Gosh, Abbey does this at least once a week! Usually it's just her front legs or back legs slip in when she's changing position on the edge of the tub. Today I was running my bath water and getting ready to get in, and I'm not even sure what she did, but I see her front paws go in followed by her back paws. And she froze. She tried to climb out the side that's just a wall and then she just started meowing so PITIFULLY! I grabbed her as soon as I could, but I was laughing SO hard. She was not a happy kitty, and she didn't come back in for my whole bath.

Every cat we have ever had has eventually fallen into the tub. Flambe has now done it twice.

Don't ahve a tub, thankfully. Have a shower room. Aya used to come in and watch me from under the safety of the sink when she was a kitten. Now she mostly guards the door. And hops in the sink while I'm doing my make-up.

I don't leave the door open or want the cats in the room.. Sherman would probably just use that opportunity to go shred the toilet paper.

Now the other day Tomas had a close call with the toilet. In the "master" bath the toilet is right next to the door. I always keep the seat and lid down, so Tomas is used to jumping up on it. I had open the door and lifted up the seat and lid to throw a piece of tissue holding a tiny piece of dropped poop (Siri's been eating my hair again..) into the toilet.
Tomas ran in thinking "Oh boy! The bathroom door is open!" and attempted to jump on the toilet. Thankfully I caught him before he slipped much.

When I was a kid I did have a fluffy black and white cat that fell in the tub with me. That was definitely a memorable experience for both of us. I ended up with several scratches as she attempted to climb me to get out of the water.
So no, never again will I let a cat in while I'm bathing.
I'll let Tomas in if DH is showering and I'm going in the room, though. Tomas sits on the sink and looks disgusted.

Cammy's never fallen in. Abbey's done it repeatedly. We keep our bathroom door closed when we aren't in there, and just keep an eye on Abbey when she comes in. She's a toilet paper shredder too. She's also almost gotten peed on by DH because she jumped on the toilet when he was peeing. I think she's fallen in the toilet too, can't remember for sure, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Years ago, when I was a teenager, we had a kitty whose name was Peanut Butter. He loved water. He would always come into the bathroom when I was in the bathtub. Only me, though. He never bothered anybody else in the family. And if I didn't bring him into the bathroom with me, he would sit on the other side of the door and scream until Mom couldn't take it anymore and she'd open the door, so he could come into visit with me.

One night I was in the tub shaving my legs. Peanut Butter was sitting on the edge of the tub and he was very intrigued with the razor. Well, he jumped in the water and right on my left thigh. To this day, I still have the long (about 8 inches) scar on my thigh from him going after the razor.

Banshee liked to sit on the edge of the bathtub and peer around the curtain when I was in the shower. Mollipop does that, too, now. And I posted about Mollipop's episode where she fell into the toilet....at 4:00 in the morning! And I had to give her a bath. And did I mention this was at 4:00 in the morning??

Oliver fell in a couple of months ago while I was bathing. The ensuing "Wet naked man chases wet naked cat" scenario was undoubtedly disturbing.

They lay in the tub and have tub perches that make the tub an actual play area, so it's actually surprising it doesn't happen more often, being that it's "their" property.

None of the cats in my present herd have. Daisy comes perilously close and it scares me. I think the moment she dicovers that she really doesn't want to be in a tub of water is the moment that things start to bloody.

Mine love to climb in the tub to get to the big bathroom window (even though its a privacy window and they cant see anything out of it
). Since the bathroom is off limits (Nero enjoys toilet water and unrolling TP
) when we aren't around, as soon as that door opens all three barge in to explore. Nero is completely intrigued by the bathroom - he'll try and look in the toilet if Rob is peeing, too. I'm surprised he hasn't been peed on yet!

I was thinking about putting an inch or two of water in the tub next time I'm in there, open the door, and see what happens when they jump in to get to the window
Nero probably wont mind, because if we let him, he'll come in the shower with us.

Cleo fell in twice when she was just a little kitten. Maggie fell in once when she was a kitten. Lola just likes to watch the water run out of the faucet. She stands on her hind legs and rests her 'arms' on the side of the bath tub and watches. She's never hopped up on the side....that was Maggie's and Cleo's fatal error in judgment. Sopping wet long-hairs really make a mess running through the house.
