Adopting Older Cats...... - Page 2

WOW that is eary that is exactly what I just went thru. We very recently lost my baby Logan, the most wonderful 12 yr old cat anywhere to cancer. We just went last Satuday to pick up Riley from Kitty Angels for my 6 yr old Lady D that was left so lonely without her friend. I had a very similar experience there, I was so amazed at how much the volunteers new & loved these cats. I'm sure your friend Nicole will be as happy with her choice as I am.

I just wanted to update anyone who is tracking this thread that when I took Sammy to the vet the week she was given a clean bill of health. Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.........

He was very impressed with how healthy she was for a 12 tear old cat and especially one who had been in a shelter for as long as she was. Good heart, healthy lungs, good teeth and nice coat. Of course I did the happy dance.

She is really settling in very nicely and is becoming more and more loving towards me. When I came home from work today I flopped on the bed to chat with Kim on the phone she came up and curled up in the crook of my arm and fell asleep. Awwwwww, it was really just too sweet.

But the best news of all is that my resident cat, Ethel, is really doing very well with her. There has been more nose touching and sniffing than hissing which makes me extremely happy. That was the whole reason for getting Sammy... to keep Ethel company and keep her out of trouble!!!

Anyway... that's the update

Nichole I missed this thread when it started, but it is a wonderful story of how you found Samantha. And she is SO pretty! I'm glad she's as healthy as she is happy with her new home.

Sounds like every one is doing well! I'm watching closely because in a couple days I might be bringing home an adopted older cat!
