Tara and Rob's post about a new tattoo (and OMG it is fabulous!
) made me realize I hadn't posted MY latest tattoo on TCS, so here it is, along with the backstory:

My daughter came to visit me in late April/early May, after we hadn't seen each other since I moved 800 miles away from her a year and a half prior.

We decided to do something special to further bond together, despite the new geographical distance, and we were both craving some new ink, so on an impulse, we headed to the local tat shop.

We both tend to prefer original ink to flash, but in this case, we found one that struck a cord with both of us, and got the same tat on the same ankle. Here are the pics. We call them Moonkitties.

MY moonkitty:

OUR moonkitties:

Hers is the one on the left. They are the same, yet each has subtle differences. It was a very special couple of hours, and now we match forever. I miss her every single day.

Love the design! Great that you got one to match with your daughter. My mother never would do that, she things tattoos are 'icky'. She doesn't even like to see mine.

So nice; if I ever got a tattoo I might have to steal your Moonkitty. I think it's wonderful that you and your daughter got matching tats.

I asked mine to get a matching butterfly tatt with me, and she laughed at me
It was near me turning 18, but she got one and said I still had to wait.

My mom hated it when I got my first tatt, saying she wanted to go with me, except when I told her I was going she said "yeah right you have to wait til you're 39 like I did."
So I went with Rob!

Wow, just wow. I absolutely love the thought, and the tattoos themselves.... What a wonderful story

They're really pretty!

My sister and I are still kicking around the idea of getting a tattoo together. We figured we could hold each other's hands while they're being done.
