Wherever there is trouble in our house you can guarantee that Milo will be in the middle of it somewhere = fights, breakages, small lost objects, he is in hte thick of it.

He loves flowing water and often turns the fountain over to drink from the stream on the floor, or sits in the sink asking for the tap to be turned on so he can drink from it and play with it.

Yesterday morning I found the bathroom tap on slightly. I blamed myself for being careless. But this morning it was in full flow so there was no hot water left. Milo spends the night in the bathroom as company for Cinders and to prevent fights during the night. So he has obviously learned to turn it on. It is a lever tap that pushes up to go on so a paw or head under it would work it.

I will put a large bowl over it tonight to try and stop him. But eventually I may have to change the tap to an older type that turns. What with changing door handles to knobs so Wellington can't open them, I feel my cats are too bright for their own good!

Oh wow! And I thought it was bad that Google turns on the light in the bathroom!
You may want to go someplace like Home Depot and ask if they have anything to baby proof the faucet. That might do the trick!

That sounds like you are talking about my Milo.
He doesn't like water though.

That is funny altho not for you tho. I have the same type of faucet but thank goodness Autumn hasn't tried in any way to turn the water on. I do close the bathroom door during the nght tho.

Hiding from my SS!
Mulder keeps trying to turn the water on this way. We have the push up style faucets too, but ours are a push up knob not a lever. Thankfully ours are really stiff so he hasn't been able to manage it, yet.

I hope Milo doesn't get scalded turning the hot water on!

If you have this style faucet:

Maybe something like a cabinet door locker would work. http://www.kidsafeinc.com/product/00...inet-Lock.html

He can't scald himself because it takes a few minutes for the water to run hot. Last night I tied the cord from my hair dryer round the tap and the outlet and he couldn't move it. The trouble with duct tape os it would be too hard for me to remove, especially first thing in the morning!

Milo! You're too smart for your own good! (I'm secretly laughing, but I feel your pain!)

Get painters tape! Quick, easy, and leaves no stick!

In the RV, we keep our tanks closed, so if water just runs, it means the RV floods!
Never had it happen - but it was close. Because of Flowerbelle and the kitchen sink which is just a push-up thingy, now we just turn the water off altogether when we leave. Easy for us in the RV - we just flip the little switch outside at the tap to the RV.

That's funny, ecept for running out of hot water. We had a dog who used to do that, and after a couple of days of turning the water off, I found a plastic mixing bowl that was a tight fit over the faucet and lever - out of sight, out of mind. Milo would probably figure that out, though, or find something else to keep himself amused.
