My kitties are fitted with some little bells on their collars. They don't seem to object, and their presence and movements are a bit easier to detect. It does seem they like them during the run-chase game.

Ours HATE bells! They are sooo miserable with them on! When I think about it, I sure wouldn't want to hear the tinkle of a bell under my head every time I move. We always take the bells off and they are happy with collars and tags (they are microchipped, too.)

Hiding from my SS!
The boys do not mind bells, but they drive me crazy! So do tags hanging from collars that jingle. So here we have embroidered collars.

I used to have a bell on Shareena, but that didn't last long. The idea was so I could hear her when she was getting into things that were verboten. She somehow figured out how to run through the house full blast, hitting every couch, chair, and counter on the way, without making the bell jingle a single time.

wonder how she managed that. I had a collar with a bell on for Harvey and it was great because I could hear him coming and he didn't seem to mind it but he is a bit of a houdini and took the collar off no end of times,it has stayed off this time. x

Playing with Jazzy & Ginga.
Both of my girls have bells, Jazzy has two on her collar and Ginga one. If they are supposed to be for scaring birds, they don't work. Jazzy caught a bird about a month ago and she's had two bells on for more than 2 years.

My boys don't like bells. Lucy on the other hand doesn't mind. I think it is because her first collar was a ferret collar with a bell. She was very small at the time, and I think she is just used to it now!

Nero and Neko have bells on their collars. Doesn't seem to bother them much. One day Neko took his collar off and hid it under the bed though

Hoshi used to have a collar and bell, til the breakaway part of the collar "melted" to his fur somehow and we had to cut it off. Can't find anymore orange collars so he goes without. All 3 stay indoors only so its not a big deal.

Billy has a bell but he is the only one. We wanted to make sure we could easily find him. It clangs against his tag that says he is blind also. It can be really annoying at times but he doesn't seem to mind.

I won't risk my cats lives by putting collars on them, but if I did would not have them wearing bells.

Google is belled so we know where he is, what he is doing, and if he is going to attack....
But Google does not approve of Joey wearing a collar and manages to get them off of him everytime. But we are getting Beastie Bands for both of them this month

No collars or bells for any of my cats. All of my cats have been indoor only, and when I do take them out, I put a harness on them for the time they are out with me, then it comes off inside.

I've always tattooed my cats, so if they do happen to get out, their tattoo is visible inside their right ear and I keep the information up-to-date at the Humane Society, so they can readily check for my name, address and phone number.

I have bells on Hurley and Lilly because they keep going after Pandora. With the bells she can hear them coming and it gives her a chance to escape. Also, I like being able to tell where they are.

Sometimes a collar may be necessary, with a license and home address if you have an indoor/outdoor pet that may escape. Or there is the pet chip implant for those who are even more careless.........
Unless your kitty is strictly indoors, a bell on their collar only attracts every predator to their every move, .....It also defeats the fun of hunting each other when they are attempting to sneak up on each other!

I love Beastie Bands! My mom buys them for her cats whenever she's in New Jersey because she can't find them in North Carolina.

I like the bells on my kitties so I know where they are around the house at times.

That is why my guys wear collars. In this area, no one would even check for a chip, so it is very necessary for them to have something!

No collars here, had too many "near misses" with the kitties when they did wear them.

And they confuse Lola, I had put one on her when I was around to watch as she was trying to slip out doors. She was....amusing. First she couldn't lift her head off the floor because the collar was "too heavy". Then this weird noise chased her (the collar jingled). Then she discovered the toy attached to her neck.....
