Hiding from my SS!
Well tomorrow will be 2 weeks here in his new home for Jinkers. Here are some new pictures of him to show how he is settling in.

He has gotten over his fear of the fan and is now happy to lay in its breeze to stay cool, with new brother Spooky.

No more hiding under the bed... the middle of the floor is the place for naps and lounging!

His new favorite activity is watching the birds at the feeder which is outside this window. (This is Spooky and Mulders favorite thing too!)

And... he has started hunting mice! Fortunately we don't have any rodents in my house, but it doesn't stop him from trying!

Yesterday he ate a treat and some canned food for the first time since he has been here and decided he really likes treats!

Today he is experimenting with his first bout of "The Kitty Crazies" and doing zoomies with Mulder around the house!

Just a little update on our newest addition!

Oh yea!! So glad he's assimilating, fitting in, and starting to act like a cat. He's such a handsome guy! So glad you were able to adopt him.

Jinkers seems to be taking more cues from Spooky and Mulder as to what is normal and what he should be afraid of. I think he has been stepped on or kicked in his past because whenever you walk towards him he kind of steps away until you stop moving or sit or crouch down. Its like he is afraid of your feet, but not you if that makes sense. He has also determined now that toys are fun. He takes great pleasure in taking the toys out of the toy box one at a time after I pick them all back up. Like a game for him!

Jinkers now feels "at home" enough to finally be showing his mischievous side! He's fun. Spooky isn't feeling all that great so they aren't playing much just cuddling, but he and Mulder are alternating between running zoomies around the whole house, tossing toys back and forth and cuddling with Spooky on the bed (with DH who is recovering from surgery). There was no fighting or disagreements when he got here, a little hissing and that was it. Its like he just fit right in with the other two.

The shelter said he was anywhere between 1-2 years based on his teeth when he came to them in June. They mentioned he had gotten a lot bigger in the time he had been there so they thought he might have been on the young side and still growing when he arrived. But the more we get to know his personality, the younger we think he is. DH and I are guessing he was probably right at a year when he arrived there, making him about 15 months now.

I've been reading all of your threads about Jinkers and have seen all of the photos you've posted of him, but I haven't had an opportunity to comment about him yet.

Jinkers is so darn cute! I love his coloring and long, tall, and lanky body. I, too, see that he's young yet -- he has a kitten-ish quality to his face. And, I just think he's adorable and the perfect addition to your home. I'm so glad you found him and decided to adopt him. I don't think anyone would disagree if I said that it's as if he always belonged with you and your family.

It's so sad to think that he may have been abused in his past. I don't understand human beings. Thank goodness Jinkers found his place in this world. And, thank God that it's with good people. He deserves to live a happy, healthy, and long life and I think that's just what he's doing now. I'm so happy to hear that he is getting on well with Spooky and Mulder. I think Jinkers has a lot to look forward to in life. And, I think that you're both very blessed to have found one another.

We'll definitely need more pics of Jinkers (and Spooky and Mulder)! They're all just so cute, so sweet, and so fun. In short, I love 'em!

I love that boy! I love his expressions and his markings. His eyes are so pretty. And he definitely has some cattitude!
