HELP!!..pukey kitty!!

I have a 2.5yr old male orange tabby. He has long hair. He pukes a lot. Sometimes 2-3 times a week, sometimes more often. Im 99% sure they are hair balls. It is the long sausage shape and I have inspected them to make sure. He also will have some liquid vomit each time. I have been brushing him on a regular basis, almost every 2-3 days. It seemed to help the past month or so but this week has been really bad. What can I do for him to reduce the amount of hair he ingests besides brushing? Is there any remedy I can give him so he doesn't vomit so much? Or is there something I can give him to coat his throat, I really don't know what I should be doing for him. I feel awful for him each time I hear that horrid meow! Please help!!!

There is hairball remedy, I think it is Laxatone. You probably should touch base with your vet and run this by him before you procede, just to get his input.

My cats puke up the hair also, although not quite so often.

Definitely pick up some hair ball remedy. But this sounds pretty bad, to be honest.

What are you brushing with?
What food(s) is your cat eating?

You need to try to get a handle on this at the source, the shedding. But you do need to get this cat in to see a vet. It may be severe enough at this time to warrant a prescription hairball food or for the vet to check to see if there's much hair unpassed in the stomach.

He is eating half Innova Dry mixed with half California Natural dry. He also gets about 1/3 can of wellness wet food a day.

I brush him with a medium with comb. Each time I brush him I get a good bit of hair, at least a palm full.

I just got done looking up different hairball cat foods. Wellness has the Indoor health dry food I think I will try. It has double the fiber as Innova. Imalso going to pick up some hairball remedy. I will give it 2 weeks then if he isn't significantally better he will see the vet!

While you're out shopping: It seems that you don't use a deshedding tool. Take a look at the Furminator. It works for a lot of cats and does have a money back guarantee.
