Icky Eye Gunk

My kitty gets WICKED icky eye gunk, is that normal? I've NEVER had a cat who's had that, and I've had cats for 20 years. But I clean her eyes off in the morning, and by night she has a glob of icky eye gunk...

Anything I can do about that?

Just a clear fluid that is turning brown in the corner of the eyes? Or something that is pus-like and yellowish green?

It could be that she got something, dust etc in her eyes and its irritating them.

Of one Herpes eye cats here and he fights the brown eye crusty pretty often--especially with all the summer thunderstorms we've had that stress him out. I just use a clean papertowel damp with warm water to take away the crust.
