My poor boys. They were neutered today, and almost had to spend the night at the vet! Pat got surprise clients, so I had to fllllly from work to the vet (which normally would take half an hour). With my luck, I of course caught a train..and it was 5, so there was TONS of traffic. I was ten minutes late, but they waited for me. They said they wouldn't want to eat, but offer it (they ate). They were given a long lasting pain med, so I don't have to give them anything, and no stitches so they don't need to go back unless there is a problem! Poor Ringo cried the entire way home- he hates his crate! I am happy to have my boys back though, safe and sound.

I was thinking though, their litter box is one of those big rubbermaid tubs. Should I find something lower for them till they heal?

We never changed our litter boxes when we had our males neutered. Sounds like we have the same type that you have.

Good to know. I also saw Lennon jumping in one, so all is good.

I am wondering if they had some sort of... hallucinating type reaction to the pain meds. Both of them were attacking nothing in the air...it was odd, lol.

Both are eating well though, so woot!

Aw my Joey was neutered almost two weeks ago and he was so upset. When he got out of his crate at home, he just stayed at my feet. I was worried about the box too but he did jut find getting in and out. I was terrified he would hurt himself because as soon as he was feeling up to walking around, he jumped on the couch onto my lap before I could stop him. He was fine though. He acted a little funny/sleepy for about 4 days and since then has been back to normal.

for your guys

Awww, give the little ones kisses for me. I also have Rubbermaid totes for litter boxes and never changed them when any of mine were neutered.
Glad they made out ok!

Congrats to Ringo and Lennon! One of the reasons I didn't want any more kittens was to avoid going through the stress of spay/neuter.

Well, life had other plans for me and I'll be right were you just were in another month with Queen Eva's spay. I can't help dreading it.

Bet they are bright eyed this morning!

You would never know that they went through it yesterday, they are perfectly normal! Jumping, running, playing...they told me to keep them quiet, but it is not happening. I have no where to keep them separated, and both are playful!
