It's been a while since I've needed to do any trapping in my feral colony since the population has remained under control and any new additions that have wandered in or been abandoned have been tame. That said, it appears I need to get serious about trapping again and will be trying tomorrow and Sat. to start, based on the spay/neuter clinic's schedule (and mine). I've spotted several new additions over the past couple of weeks. Only one of them actually appears to be feral, but the other two are very scared strays/abandoned pets and, while curious, won't get too close. Unfortunately, even if they are tame, they'll have to be returned to the site for now. The rescue that helps with my colony is full and I'm already fostering a young female that was left behind when her owners moved.

Please send vibes that I can trap the kitties in question. That's my primary goal for now. Thanks!

Many for success. Patience is the key as you know.

I hate it when winter is looming and there are kitties that need our attention.

Got one - the suspected abandoned female who may already be spayed. Will know soon enough. Please keep the vibes coming. Will try again on Sat.

Thanks, guys. I need all the vibes I can get. Saw two new cats yesterday. Headed out in a bit to set the traps since the spay/neuter clinic is open today.

The cat I trapped Thurs. a.m. is indeed the abandoned female. At first I was just going to release her because there is a literally no place to go with these cats right now, tame or not, but I have found a group that's willing to take her. At least that's one less cat I'll have to worry about.

Got one! Young Siamese mix, with pale blue eyes, pretty raggedy looking. This is one of the new ones I say yesterday. Went in the trap, but appears to be friendly and the rescue thinks adoptable, so they're going to find the space for him/her (not sure yet). Will scan for a microchip just in case and try to find the owners, but based on past experience, expect this is likely another abandoned pet.

Won't be able to trap again till Thurs., but will be there bright and early then.
Thanks, guys.

I'm thinking 3 or 4. I've seen a young, brown marbled tabby, an older tabby, and a big orange guy. The neighbors also reported seeing a small tabby with white on their porch, but I haven't seen her. There's also new black who's already eartipped - he's not one I had fixed, though. Wondering where he came from since I haven't heard of anyone else doing TNR in the area.

Heard from the spay/neuter clinic. The cat I trapped this morning is female, about 1-year-old, tested neg. Her name will probably be Leilani (Hawaiian for "heavenly lei" or "child of heaven.").
