Queen Eva is 11 1/2 weeks old. No recent weight on her, last one was when I rescued her at 8 weeks she was 2.8 pounds.

She's growing longer in body almost daily. Finally her legs have started to catch up with that so now she is all legs and long body.

Still too skinny. She is eating three or more 3 oz cans a day, a combination of wellness grain free cat food (the bulk) and some Petite Cuisine chicken and rice to round things out.

I'd like to offer her a little kibble for snacks in between but she doesn't like the wellness kibble and that's what I have. Of course she wants Mazy's c/d kibble but I won't let her have that.

She had a droncit three weeks ago for tapeworms, then kitten revolution for any fleas remaining after the capstar, and for roundworms.

Four days after the kitten revolution her fecal still tested positive for roundworms so all cats were dosed with drontal this past Monday.

She's so skinny, but eating so much!

She's active, but has not yet entered that wild and crazy never stop kitten stage, she's still babyish as far as activity goes.

It's been 11 years since I've had a baby in the house, and Tolly was so finicky, looking back it almost seems like he never ate anything his first three years of life, so I can't go by experience.

Will she start to fill out now that her de-worming is hopefully complete? Is this a normal amount for a kitten her age to be eating?

Her follow up check up and second distemper booster is one week from today.

I'd be inclined to say she is making up for lost time, those worms were probably stealing some nutrition for awhile and now she is compensating perhaps.
How does everything in the litter box look? Are dead worms still passing or does she have loose stool?
I've always been told at that age just let them eat as much as they want. She might be gearing up for a growth spurt

And some kittens love to eat. I have one like that myself. Tanna actually grew slow for several months then suddenly got a bit bigger ...and sadly fatter. I'll have to correct that soon.

For now she'll eat until her belly says no more. After a while she'll figure out that she doesn't need to gorge. If she doesn't keep an eye on her as she nears a year old...

Thanks you guys. Well she doesn't gorge exactly because I don't free feed and I do measure feed. I feed servings. She gets 1/8 can at a serving and will eat 1/2 to 1 can this way at any given meal time.

What I mean is, I put 1/8 of a can in her dish. When she finishes that I put down another 1/8 and so on, until she stops eating. I've found I get less wasted food that has to be thrown away this way. All my cats are fed this way, though the adult cats get larger servings, 1/4 can at a time.

No worms have ever come out in her poop that I have seen, and I have been looking.

The only time she had soft and very large smelly poops was when she first came, she was eating Purina Kitten Chow. Disgusting stuff. I started with a slow transition, but just couldn't stand the smell of the kitten chow, so just chucked it and put her on the canned wellness with a probiotic daily for a week. Once the soft stool stopped I stopped the probios.

Now her poops are perfectly formed, classic three sectioned kitten sized poops.
She poops once every 18 hours or so, so not quite twice a day.

I thought I had read somewhere here that kittens eat more than adult cats, but I wasn't sure if that was right, so thanks for the reassurance.

the clinical food description is 2 -3 times what an adult of the same size would eat ... so say Eva is 3.5 lbs she would eat 7-10 oz roughly a day

Gumby "the Gut" can down 5oz of wet food 2x/day, in addition to several cups of dry food. I don't call her "the Gut" for nothing! She's now just over a year old, & always ate like a horse. She has a small head & a larger body, she is still growing into herself. She is very long/lean & I'd guess she currently weighs somewhere around 9lbs?

She also hasn't always eaten kitten food, but rather all lifestage or adult (I think she got switched off kitten food at about 6 months, as she was gaining weight rapidly.)

Thanks everyone! She's not getting any kitten food, she won't eat the Wellness kitten canned and I returned the Wellness kitten kibble because she wouldn't eat that either. She wants Mazy's c/d for kibble and she's not having that.

I keep my adult cats (except Mazy) on a canned food diet with kibble for snacks but I would have to shut her up to free feed her kibble. Just can't bring myself to do it.

I wasn't planning on letting her have any human food (meaning chicken) until she was older but with Tolly be so ill lately, there's been a lot of chicken out, and she's discovered it and likes it.

I thought I was aware just how much kittens consumed, until "Quints by Surprise" happened at my house. Bottle feeding 5 kittens and alternating of the 5 meals a day 2 being soft food, its like a constant buffet here. I'm shocked at the amount they are consuming.

The kitten I kept from the litter I saved last year is still eating a lot as well, she too has a small head and huge body, waiting for everything to catch up.

Mollipop is eating 6 ounces of canned cat food a day, 3 in the morning and 3 at dinner. She follows her canned food with about 1/8 cup of dry kibble, which is then followed by a bit of Sip. In between, when we're home, she gets a handful or so of dry kibble a couple times a day. Oh, and her treats....about 4 of them a couple times. (Oh, and she has decided that she likes chicken. And people tuna. And shredded wheat.)

Molli is long and sleek and she's going to be a long girl. Stretched out, she's over half the width of a queen-sized bed (I probably should measure her length). She's not chubby at all. Last time she was at the vet, she weighed 5.5 pounds and she's 7 months old. She's runs all her food right off as she bounces off the walls and jumps to the top of the kitchen cabinets! The only time that girl is still is when she's sound asleep. When she's awake, she's into everything!

We don't free-feed; we can't. We have two 16-year-old Old Crabs (who are pukers; they puke everything they eat). If we put food down all the time, they would eat and eat and eat til it was gone. Then they'd just puke it all back up. Free-feeding is not an option here. But I do think Mollipop is getting everything she needs. And when I told her vet how much she eats, he didn't think it was too much or too little. She's healthy.
