Please keep the adoption vibes coming for Evie. She really is a sweet little cat. Unfortunately, she's going to be a challenge to place because she's "just another brown tabby" (this is how adopters in our area tend to think) and because at the age of 3, she's considered "old."
How horrible what her owners done to her! They should be arrested. I am glad she has found you now. I hope she gets the wonderful forever home she deserves.

Heard from the neighbors that they also left a dog behind. The SPCA came and took him, but didn't want to bother with the cat. Figures.
It also appears that another family moved in the past few weeks and left their cat behind. I've called the landlord in the hopes of tracking them down, but no response. Unfortunately, it's very difficult to charge folks with abandonment here, especially with cats. Neither animal control or the county prosecutor takes these kinds of cases very seriously.
