So i woke up this morning early in the morning and saw my cat laying there on the floor and she was not meowing or anything but she was in labor.
There was a little bubble on her butt coming out so i new it had to be a kitten.
she seemed to be pushing it out by herself , pretty well
i had to go to work butt my dad was home to watch her.
so i lefted for work and my dad said that the kitten was dead , ( her first litter btw)
i was really sad. ,
the thing im worried about is sense 6am when she gave birth she has not had another kitten? ,
but she does not seem in distress or anything and is all lovey dovey and licking herself? can anyone help me or explain to me maybe what happened ?
( she is a stray we found) i dont own a car right now.. i would like to take her to a vet
it seems like she never went back into labor ?
will she go in it again?
please help

Difficult to have definitive answers...

Like you say, taking her to a good vet would be good. Although, many forumists had told, when they do phone the vet and ask in similiar situations, the vet says: if she is not worried, and seems contend, you can await - although keep your eyes open.

EDIT. Said this - contacting a vet is of course the recommendation. Can you at least phone a vet and ask?

On the other hand, licking and spinning is not always same as being contend. It may be her feeling not so well too. Spinning is not seldom a try to cover pains...
Being extra lovable may also be a sign... Many cats go aside when in pain. Some may become irritable. But some cats in distress gets extra lovebugs.

So you knowing her, must feel it out...
Let me give a helping question:
Does she wash herself over the whole body (=contend, dont worry), or does she licks much down there? (may be trouble, watch out)

They CAN have one kitten. Especielly if young and it is their first litter.

It can also be this one was premature, and others are still there, and will be born later when their time has arrived - hopefully OK.

This is entirely possible - in your case even quite probable - especielly if she has still a big belly and you think she has more.

So it is quite possible she will give birth again in perhaps one week more... You must wait and see, if you cant afford to go to a good vet...

the kittens are in each own sack, that is why it is possible they give birth separately.

And the premature have more difficulties then human babies born premature. So it is often these who are stillborn. Premature born alive often - even usually - die. Although sometimes they can be saved with lotsa work.

And it may also explain why she doesnt seems to care much - if it was premature, she herself is not ripe yet, her mother hormones are not yet up, making her awaiting kittens.
(their pregnancy time is about 63 days. May be a couple days longer, but shouldnt be much shorter)

Good luck!

Its important you get her to a vet pronto. If she has other kittens in there they could die and poison her.
