Someone asked me about this one, it's quite tricky!

There were six apples in a basket and six girls in a room, each girl took one apple and yet one remained in the basket, how could it be possible?

No cheating please.

Well, the logical reason is that one girl took an apple from someplace other than the basket... Or am I oversimplifying? lol

Edit- Unless the last girl took the basket with the last apple inside it?

Here's another one:

A man calls his wife from the office and says he'll be home at 8. He gets in at 8:02. She is furious. They didn't have a previous engagement or anything like that so why was she so angry?

just wondering - i haven't read any of the responses, but the language is ambiguous, so i thought that might be the answer!

She thought 8:00pm and it was 8:02am? (I know I would be furious!!)

This one is a little hard, please don't cheat!

There are 5 houses of 5 different colours.
One person of a different nationality lives in each house.
The 5 persons drink a certain beverage, smoke a certain brand of cigarette and have a certain pet.
None has the same animal, smokes the same brand or drinks the same beverage.

Hints : 1.The Englishman lives in the red house.
2.The Sweedish person has a dog.
3. The Danish person drinks tea.
4.The green house is to the left of the white house
5. The person in the green house drinks coffee.
6.The person who smokes Players, raises birds.
7.The person in the yellow house smokes Export A.
8.The man living in the house in the middle drinks milk.
9.The Norwegian lives in the first house.
10.The man who smokes Dumaurier lives beside the one who has cats.
11.The man who has horses lives beside the one who smokes Export A.
12.The man who smokes Rothmans drinks beer.
13.The German smokes Cigarello
14.The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
15.The man who smokes Dumaurier has a neighbour who drinks water.

Question : Who has a fish?

Norwegian!! Ok here is why

he must be in a yellow house because we are given that he's in the first house, and if green and white are next to each other then neither of them can be first because blue is second, so the only options left for first house are yellow and red, we know englishman is in red so the only one left for first place yellow

We also know that whoever is in the yellow house smokes Export A so we know the norwegian must smoke that


So knowing the Norwegian is in the first yellow house and smokes Export A's , we can eliminate birds because birds are kept by the person in the middle, cats because the person who has them smokes Demuir and we know the norwegian smokes Export A, horses because again the one next to the norwegian will have them according to the rules and Dogs because we know that the swedish person has them!!!

The only one left for the Norwegian is fish!!

Wow it took me faaar longer to explain it then to come up with the answer...
