My baby brother, Brody, will be 17 next month. He is the love of my life, a character through and through and as much as I love him, he's a huge pain in the butt.

Brody has Down Syndrome, is incredibly high functioning, and wants nothing more at this point in his life than to gain a little bit of independance. Mom is a single Mom, so I have always helped raise Brody, and none of us have ever treated him like he has a disability.

The reason I am requesting vibes is because later this evening, Brody has a job interview for McDonalds!
I am SOOOO excited for him, he is thrilled and we're all hoping for the best. He's been wanting a job since he turned 15 and it's pretty much all he talks about.
The local McDonalds is great about hiring those with special needs and they are a great company to work for. I know from personal experince as I had my first job there as well.

Any vibes you could send his way would be greatly appreciated!

Sending many 'getting the job vibes'
He sounds like such a wonderful kid and wanting to get out and work is not so common today with kids so I applaud him.

You guys are so awesome.

I just talked to Mom. I guess he'll know by Friday, but Mom says she didn't get a good vibe. He was there for all of 5 minutes and they didn't talk to Mom at all.

It's a waiting game now.

I hope he gets a chance. My 19 year old daughter is M.I.D (mildly retarded) She wants a job so bad. No-one will give her a chance.

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
I'm sorry I'm late to the pre-interview vibes, but I'm sending my vibes he gets the job and your mom is happily surprised!

I worked - many years ago - to help develop job programs for people with special needs at employers. McDonald's and the supermarkets - both local and chain - were great.

Marianne and Kailie - have your daughter/brother looked into opportunities at pharmacies or supermarkets?

My daughter has applied at every supermarket, grocery store in town, and all fast food restaurants. I really hope Brody gets his job,
