Seeing lots of toads this summer - which is a good sign, I think, since amphibians are so sensitive to environmental changes.
I have grabbed a couple of them in the garage over the last couple of months and put them back outside, as I know they are no match for my gang... AND - I know they secrete nasty stuff as a defense.
Well, tonight, rounding up the gang in the garage and Prowler goes dashing past me with SOMETHING in his mouth. At first glance I thought it was a small field mouse...
He dropped in the livingroom and I ran over to get whatever it was. It was a small, young TOAD! Playing dead. I grabbed it up and shoo'd the cats away and released him outside in the bushes. I hope he is ok.
Boy were the cats ever bummed!!! Geez - Meowmy took our new toy!!!!
