I really need to clean, and I should make some more collars but I just don't feel like it! I'm so stressed out with all the kitties being/getting sick and I just feel so blahhhh.

How do you kick yourself in gear to get things done? I'm really tried of "wasting" my weekends, but I like to take the time to relax
what motivates ya!

I'm having that exact same problem right now.

I usually shut the t.v. off, put on some rock music and just start with one room, then I gradually go from room to room till it's done or I get tired.

I went thru that cleaning thing yesterday. What motivated me was the amount of broken glass under the fridge left by the last tenants.

Have you started feeling picked on yet???????

I'm always looking for ways to make cleaning easier and faster. I have several books that give helpful household advice, and trying out different cleaning hints helps me get motivated. I also write out a list of things that need to be done.

I set aside one morning a week to clean my whole house. I treat it like a job...I don't answer the phone, make plans, etc. I just know that Saturday mornings from 7-12 are my cleaning morning.

Plus, doing it this way, I don't have to do much during the week. Just pick up things left lying around, and of course, I keep up the bathroom...I can't stand a dirty bathroom

That is a good idea. I need to pick a time and stick to it!

I only feel motivated when the dust bunnies (dust rhinos in my home) get bigger than Ivo!

No, seriously, I try to totally clean a room every weekend-bedroom, living room or kitchen. The bathroom is kept clean as needed because I hate a dirty bathroom. And I keep the kitchen counters, sink and stove clean as needed too. I just rotate moving furniture, vacuuming and moping and dusting.

What motivates me to clean?

Nothing.

I have serious issues with clutter and never throwing things away. But I can't stand to have a dirty dish in the sink. Go figure. The biggest thing that motivates me to keep the house in some state other than having to shovel my way in and out is Joey. If things are lying around, he tends to pee on them.
