Probably "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" - it's been a favorite since childhood. I won't even watch "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" with Johnny Depp (though I adore him) because I know I'd be disappointed. I also like "A Christmas Story", about the little boy who wants a BB gun for Christmas. And a totally different type of movies entirely, "Goodfellas", about mobsters.

I've never been much of a movie watcher....I prefer a good book any day.

My original favorite movie was "Little Big Man." I still love that movie, and can watch it over and over!

Currently my favorite is "The Prestige." Every time I watch it, I see something that I've missed. It's great!

Yep, Johnny Depp makes it a bit "mad" I love the original also, that was a bit of a disappointment. I also love Groundhog Day was thinking about that film also earlier, can you see a pattern emerging? winter settings? I love winter and christmas time

I liked The Patriot. I have lost count of the times I have watched it.

Over the river and through the woods...
"Gone With The Wind" hands down, although "It's a Wonderful Life" is a close second. I have watched both of them more times than I can count.

I also love:
When Harry Met Sally
Jurassic Park
Twister
Pretty Woman
Dirty Dancing

The list goes on and on......

That is a really hard question! I'm thinking maybe one of the LOTR. I can't think of a movie I was so excited to see when it came out as the Return of the King.

I think I have to agree with you here, but only the extended versions, and ALL THREE OF THEM, not just the last one! We have a Lord of the Rings weekend once a year and watch all three. Great, great movies.

But there's also that oldie with Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr...darn, I can't remember the name of it, but I go thru an entire box of tissues when I watch it. I just googled it...An Affair to Remember. In the romance department, it's also a great one.

Agreed. Man, I grew up watching them and then my son watched them while he was little.

I would also have to add Tremors and No Country for Old Men. Also, I really love some J-Horror that most haven't heard of.

I love pretty much any well-done and well-acted fantasy or sci fi movie. The original Star Wars trilogy, Lord of the Rings, and Underworld come to mind... Musicals too, since I was a huge choir geek in high school. Rent, Phantom of the Opera, Sound of Music, etc. Though if you're more the sort for chick flicks and such, one of my girlfriend's favorites, No Reservations, has also grown on me quite a bit. lol

There are sooooo many; I've been a movie lover my whole life.
Favorites?
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy

all of the Harry Potter films (I'm almost salivating waiting for The Deathly Hallows to be released!)

Meet Me in St. Louis (the first few minutes of Margaret O'Brien discussing a funeral for her doll are absolutely priceless, and Judy Garland is just beautiful)

Bringing Up Baby (Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant), Arsenic & Old Lace (also Cary Grant), Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? ( Bette Davis & Joan Crawford ) are my favorite oldies

Possibly my #1 favorite--Gladiator
