I just adopted a 9 week old kitten, male. He was fixed two days ago from the people that I adopted him from.

When I went to pick him up he was full of fleas. I went to my vet and got some advantage for him and my two other cats.

But now I'm thinking I will have an infestation of my house.

Does this medication kill the eggs too or will I have to treat my home?

I asked the vet if I could bath him but since he just was fixed I cannot.

If I need to treat my house what should I use? I have heard of using Borax and or a spray of 1-gallon vinegar, ½ gallon water, 16 oz lemon juice and 8 oz of witch hazel.
Has anyone else used either of these.

Thank you so much...we are new to this site and appreciate your kindness.

In my experience it will take care of the issue. Advantage rocks and has really helped when getting new cats I will treat them on way home to cut down on having to do additional cats(have quite a few)
Congrats on the new addition!!!

;Yes, Advantage is great. It should take care of the problem.

IMO homemade solutions do not work on fleas. They are the hardest things to kill with their skeleton being on the outside of their body. My daughter got Frontline spray from the vet for her house and it cleared them up.

Not a fan of chemicals, but I am not a fan of fleas on my animals and myself.
