Is your cat tuned in to your physical needs?

I'm not in all that great physical health, and this morning I went outside just to fill up our outdoor fountain when a neighbor heard me and we started talking over the fence. I hadn't had breakfast or anything and just that little bit of standing there was more than I could really handle, so I excused myself and came back inside. Once I got inside, I kind of fell onto the couch, and immediately Stinkpot kind of mewled at me and jumped on on my chest and started "kneading" on me. I think he was concerned about me!

Everyone else was just looking at me wondering why I went outside before giving them their treats !!

Well, I guess you know who got some very special treats this morning, don't you .

I think they can sense when something is wrong. Whenever Im sick or upset from various issues in my life they always seem to be more snuggly than usual.

Awww, that's adorable!

My kitties absolutely know when I'm sick or upset in any way. Imhotep especially, he's my little nursemaid.

My cats seem to know when something is wrong. Spooky in particular. It goes for both physical and emotional problems.

When I am feeling sad or stressed he is like a velcro kitty he wants to be on or near me, and depending on what is going on he will do different things. If I am angry or frustrated he will get playful and distracting and if I am sad he will want to lay on me and cuddle. Many people have noticed it.

When I am sick he stays with me constantly. He will sleep in the bed with me but he will paw at my face and wake me up if I don't get up often enough. When I broke my leg he followed my wheelchair around (or rode in it) and would lay on my cast when I was sitting down. When my blood sugar goes down he gets very concerned and will paw at me to get me up or get my attention and he has even gone to get DH before when I crashed and was non responsive.

So yes.

Wow! That's very cool. You've got your own little insulin checker without having to be poked, huh?

My Sooty knowswhen there is something wrong with me he lies down with me cuddled up and purring on my back when its acting up and Flash knows when im just down in the dumps and comes and kisses and cuddles between them they have quite the double act

No. When I came home from surgery a couple years ago Tomas kept running across my incisions. And on the days when my back is acting up and I'm having a lot of difficulty walking they do not get out from under foot.

The whole lot of them are largely oblivious to everything but their own needs. I just get cuddled up to if I lay down anywhere because they like to snuggle and be petted.

My Linus was extremely in tune to me.

My current two cats are not at all. In fact, when I am in distress or sick, they avoid me like the plague.

I dunno. None of my cats ever pay any attention to how I'm feeling.
But there was a stray, once, who came to my house when I didn't have any cats at all, and he was like MAGIC. Seriously, I wouldn't be surprised if he was actually the kitty-incarnate of someone I knew, and he stayed only for a day.
I got told off for feeding him and petting him (He was missing a lotta fur and looked like he had a million-and-one diseases, so my parents got worried about me.) well, I got pretty upset after that, and sat outside with him while crying. After a little while, he stood on my lap, put a paw on each of my shoulders and give me a lick on my cheek as if he were gracing me with a kiss!
I don't think I'll ever forget him. Looking back at it, it was pretty gross 'cos he was a really ugly and dirty cat, but I still appreciated it at the time!
I like to think he was trying to cheer me up, but I guess I don't really know.
