Guttural meow

Milly is a 19 month old cross ragdoll. She's eating, drinking and using the litter tray all ok. She's an indoor cat who shares our home with Pippin. She's not been spayed (pip has been neutered).

For the last week or so milly has been howling for no reason! It's a low guttural meow... As if she's calling.

Is she on heat? She's done this on a few occasions in the past but it's not lasted for this long!

Help!

Not an expert here but most likely that is probably what it is if she is not spayed. It is a good idea to get her spayed ASAP. A friend let his siamese go unspayed for a few months and he said he'd never heard such racket out of a cat before.

When you take her to get her spayed I would suggest you go ahead and get a blood panel/tests done on her to make sure everything else is in good working order. Then you will have a base line for future care.

More than likely she is calling, they do get longer each cycle when not bred (and you shouldn't breed her)

Get her booked in for spaying, she is at risk of Pyometra which can be deadly if she keeps being allowed to cycle.

Yeah my guess would also be going for the not being spayed part! Kahlua would make HORRID noises before we got her fixed! And all hours of the night! And she would also try to rub her bum on everyone.... always an odd thing to explain to non-cat people!
