Ugh...Mother shows up at my house

So my neighbors cat just gave birth 2 weeks ago...well last night/this morning my mother hears hissing and apparently there was a cat outside our living room window that our dominant cat was hissing back at. My mom thought it was one of the males running around but when she opened the door it was the mother cat of next door! It was like 5am at the time and she was wet and cold because it had been raining.

All Im wondering is...why would she want to go out if she has kittens and what kind of danger can that put the kittens in?

I hate to say it, but it could be that she has come into heat again and was searching for a mate! Two weeks after the kittens' birth is early but not impossible. Your neighbour should try and get her spayed at once, it is not impossible for a nursing female.

Oh gosh...thats what I was afraid of. And the owner was planning on spaying her after the kittens where weaned. I really hope she isnt pregnant again...

But do you think the kittens will be ok? She only had 4 of them and i just saw them all last night and they look healthy...but im not sure if they are eating enough. I keep trying to tell her to keep food and water in the room with her but she doesnt and she was really hungry yesterday.

Tell your neighbour to talk tot he vet and see what they suggest in the circumstances.
