Started about 3 weeks ago. I'll open up a can of food, he'll eat some then walk away and will refuse to eat it later.Seems he only wants new cans whenever he eats. I took him to the vet and the physical exam and bloodwork came back normal. His weight dropped from 10lbs to 9lbs since his last visit back in May. He gave me some appetite stimulant pills to see if that helps, but if not, to take him to a more advanced vet testing center for further testing. I'd rather find out what the cause of this is instead of having to give him pills in order to function properly.

Anyone else ever come across this or have any other suggestions?

Have you tried warming the food just a bit in the microwave. Sometimes the smell stimulates them to eat better. I hope you find out what is causing this. It is not normal. Don't let the cat go without getting some food in him. Without food, cats develop liver problems which can be fatal.

have you tried other food to see if he'd eat?

if you don't want to microwave, i heard you can add some hot water to heat up the food too.
