I am handraising 5 kittens. I have a spayed female cat who would help me clean them-but I I dnt know if she could get sick from them? She doesn't need to help them potty they do that on their own.

Thanks

Personally, I'd be sort of nervous about that. If you don't know whether they have FLV/FIV, fleas, ticks, lice, etc., I'd probably keep the other cat away.

If they are pottying on their own, why would your other cat need to intervene? If these kittens were outside, there is a sure bet that they have parasites; fleas worms, etc..which is easily transmitted to other cats. I would at least get the kittens to the vet and have them tested (depending on their age) but keep the other cat away until that vet visit is done. Even if your cat is vaccinated, if not up to date on shots some bad things could happen healthwise if the kittens carry any virus.
