Hi guys ... me again!

I've got Mississippi (female spayed) and Bobbie-Jo (female spayed) outside. Strays that came up out of nowhere, never seen them before. I've also got Boca (male, not neutered) who I bring in nightly or when it gets too hot.

Boca and Bobbie-Jo are fine, though Bobbie is fattening up quite a bit, and so is Miss. Miss has some sort of congestion, and she's had it since she got here. It will get better sometimes, and sometimes get worse. She has no mucus coming out of her nose, she eats like a PIG and her third eyelids are not showing. She even plays, I see her at night chasing bugs on the porch.

Problem is, she is so extremely skittish of me that I can't take her to the vet. I know if I somehow manage to get her in a carrier and take her to the vet that upon arriving home, she'll run away and Bobbie will go with her. They are very close, headbump constantly and are always together. I've been slowly getting closer to Bobbie and she's even letting me pet her now for short times, but if I make a sudden move they skitter away. These cats are older than Boca (1-2 years old maybe) so I'm figuring with the sparse spattering of gray hair on Bobbie that both of them are closer to 5-6. I have no idea really.

I was scared that it was herpes, and the other cats might catch it. They've been here for nearly a year and Bobbie Jo is absolutely fine, no wheezing, no sniffling, nothing. Boca is fine as well. They sometimes all lay together in a lump.
I know nothing about herpes though. I thought if it was a URI that she would have mucus coming out of somewhere and act lethargic. She's anything but.

Even my mobile vet wouldn't be able to get to her, if I barely get to touch the back of her neck she runs. She is very very skittish. Is there anything I could dust over her food to help her? Any special food maybe I should feed her? I feel so badly for her, but have no idea what I can do aside from trapping her and risking her running away for good. They are both so very sweet and cute.

I had to chase off two raccoons one night (Dumb me left the cat food out) and a Boxer who was going after the raccoons, it scared both the females so bad they didn't come back for TWO DAYS.

Any help is appreciated
Sorry for bothering you all again

You know there's lower respiratory infections, airway inflammation - allergies, bronchitis, and asthma that can all make a cat sound congested like that without mucus, right? So can early URIs.

Simple solution, though it might be difficult for you. Don't let her loose back outside. She can't run away if she has no where to run to. Besides, it may end up that she needs daily meds.

I have one that has mild allergies to dust and clay dust. He'd get a light shallow cough without any mucus/phlegm. He would just sound like a person coughing with a tad bit of congestion.

I didn't think about Asthma and Bronchitis. I'm just afraid if I do lay hands on her, she'll freak out and never come back if she slips out of my hold or she'll never trust me again period. Obviously I have little experience in skittish cats. I guess you might call her feral? Or maybe not so much. I don't know. Thanks for the advice

If you can pet her and she comes to you for food, she'd be semi feral or just skittish.

If you can bring her in you will face taming her down a bit. But some cats act differently inside than they do outside.
It may be a challenge but as long as you're patient and gentle you could tame her down.
