There's So Much to Read On this Site

Help! I'm overwhelmed with how much there is to read here. I've subscribed for 3 months, but I don't know how to begin here. There are so many forums.

What forum did you guys all read first? Anyone have any tips on where to start?

I felt overwhelmed also when I first joined here but you just have to remember, you don't have to answer every single post. I usually go to The Cat Lounge daily. If you're new you can introduce yourself in the New Cats on the Block thread. The Cat Lounge seems to be the most popular thread so maybe just stick with that one for awhile and gradually check out others to see if they interest you, hope this helps.

Yep just kind of skim.
I always check the ones I have posted in, and then hang out in the cat lounge most of the day!
And you subscribed, but that doesnt mean you lose access to any of the main forums after the time is up! So dont feel rushed!

I joined about a year ago and spent most time reading the pregnant cat and kitten care forum since I had three furbabies to learn about .

I now still look at that, the lounge, IMO and if I am having a emotionally strong day, crossing the bridge.

I usually just sit in the lounge and look at the new posts. Unless I'm looking for some info or something in cat health or behavior. And every once in a while I check out the new cats.

I usually skim the Lounge. Right now I am stalking the Secret Santa thread. I like to look at the Other Animals section, too, because sometimes there's some interesting stuff. The Health and Behavior sections are a wealth of infromation and support and if you need it. I avoid the Bridge section because it makes me cry. BTW, I love your Avatar. That kitten is adorable!

I came to the site because kitties turned up in our yard. So I got to know TCS through the Caring for Strays and Ferals forum. The majority of my posts were there for a looong time.

But it's probably easiest to start in this forum - and just jump in! We're a really friendly bunch.

I like helping people with their kitty issues, so I always visit the ferals forum and the behavior forum. It's always nice for people to get lots of advice. Probably find yourself learning lots even if/though you've had cats a long time. I learned so much over all these years on TCS and rescuing so many kitties, I like to turn around and share it all when I've time.

same here. i usually check my subscribed threads 1st, then new posts if i have time.

I just search for whatever kind of info I need at the moment.
