Meet ups:

I will only be driving about 2 hours, so I can bring a dish! What sounds good? I can cook something Californian or Mexican. Any suggestions?
I don't do seafood, that's about it.

As for overnight, I can see how it goes, since I'm pretty close to my sister's place in Lebanon from Knoxville. And this trip is my getaway, to take some time off from thinking over and over about what to do with my disastrous marriage (DH and I will discuss if i stay working in the office when I get back; he let me rehire my former secretary to cover the front desk while I'm gone.his mistress is 18 years younger and she is a complication).
..... anyway...so on with the Meet-up plans

grrr the girl I thought I could switch with is going to be out of town that weekend (so thats why I'm working!) seesh! hmmm.... I get off work at 6 but I didnt think anyone would want to do it that late. And we race on Sunday stupid work. Always getting in the way of the fun stuff! Anyone have any ideas?

We could do it at my house, and you could come after work if everybody is still hanging around? I think we determined you are only like 5 minutes from me. I don't have a grill but we can make it work.

count me in!!! I can stay late - it will be so worth it!! And I've rented the car from Friday noon till Sunday, so I've lots of time. If I need to, I can always visit the Knoxville shelters and go groom cats (it's my travel hobby, while DH goes golfing, or is in meetings, etc. Some people shop - I visit shelter pets )

Found out there is an autocross in Chattanooga on the following Sunday if anyone is interested in racing! And if the boy gets the shocks put on the S2K I'm sure he will want to go test them out!

gah! its a no go for me any early than 6 on Saturday The 2 people that are off, 1 cant get a sitter and 1 will be out of town. so that sucks a bunch! I was sooo looking forward to it!!

DH has offered to cook one of his specialties (the worlds best meatloaf) or we can order in or whatever.

Then Jordi can come when she gets off work.

What time do we want to get together? Do we want to go out or stay in and cook. If we are staying in I need to know how many people are coming and what everyone wants to eat!

Do you all want to do potluck? I'm happy to stay in, so we can look at pix and exchange cat stories, but am also willing to go out. It's whatever works for everyone else. I will be landing tonight, and then I plan to PM and call. It was hectic at the airraces - lots of fun, tho.

You guys have fun with the meet-up! capt_jordi is maybe 5 miles from me and based on her location, CruiserMaiden may be even closer. I live in North Knoxville and I visit my parents in Fountain City at least once a week. I would stop by and say hi, but unfortunately I'm leaving for Idaho tomorrow and I won't be back until October 2nd.

We can meet at my place. PM for address and phone #.

We can all hang out here. DH suggested we provide snacks and some sodas for the afternoon and then everybody goes out to dinner after Jordi gets off work so she can come too.

Anyone who doesn't want to drive home late can stay here. We have 1 queen size room available, plus the couch if needed.

I need a headcount by Friday so I can arrange snacks if that is a good plan. I will get regular and diet coke and bottled water, if you need something different let me know or you could bring your own.

I'm so EXCITED!!!

Went to the store today and got some snacks and sodas. We have coke, diet coke and bottled water. I will also make some iced tea (sweet and un-sweet). Oh and there will be cookies!

I still need to know who is coming. I changed the sheets in the spare bedroom today in case anyone wants to stay. Oh and I bought a hook/eye latch for the bathroom door because the regular latch doesn't work and the cats know how to open it...

Bummed I cant make it out there - hubby is coming down with probably the cold I just got over, seems like it's starting the same way, so he's not really feelin' a trip that 'big'. If it were closer than 6 hours I'd probably pop by for a bit. I may be going to North Carolina this weekend, also.

Hopefully there will be another time in the future. It seems I need to live in Tennessee, cuz I don't think anyone else on this board even lives in SC

Sorry you guys cant make it! I hope he doesnt have the virus going around that I have. Its horrid! I am miserable!!

Ahh I just got a call from a girl at work and she is willing to switch on Saturday now! Woot! So I can make it! I gotta get everything approved but shouldnt be a huge deal!

I think it's just a cold I had. I was sick Friday - Tuesday. Stuffy nose (yet Nero-style snot rockets when I'd sneeze!), sore throat, pounding headaches, and sooo very tired. Seems to be going around my job and a lot of people on my FB I keep in touch with have had it too.

So did everything get approved? Susan has to leave by 2 so we should probably get together earlier and maybe go have lunch. She hasn't responded with what time she will be this way. What time is good for you?
