Wanna take an extended trip out towards NC/SC?

Actually DH and I are up in the air about if we want to (and can afford) a trip to Atlanta this month. Sooooooo... if we could schedule a meet up that weekend it would help me decide. If I don't go to the shower, I can send a gift. If I do go to the shower, my only gift would be my presence.

Update: I talked to my sister and she agreed she needs stuff for Calleigh more than she needs to see me 3 weeks early, so I am going to skip the shower and send her one of the bigger things she needs for the baby. Soooo I'm back in!

Hooray!!! I will be leaving for Reno (to see AirRaces) on 9/16 and fly to TN on 9/21 am. I've got a lot of major stuff on my mind - getting dumped for a younger woman, which means that I'm also being told to leave my job (DH office); I hope that we can do the meet-up - I think it will be a big help in my recovery. right now, the heartache is unbearable. And I've got to finish up a couple of days here in the office and also have been told to remove my personal things.

Well if nothing else you can come and see me! But I hope we can get some others involved!

As mentioned before if Knoxville is a good center point we could meet at my house. I think Jordi mentioned her house would be good too, but she may be working?

As far as I can tell, Sat., 9/25 is the day & Knoxville is the place!!
I will be coming out the 40, I think, from Lebanon. And if anyone wants me to pick them up, just let me know. I can do a ML-San Diego turnaround. In fact, early this year, I did a Bishop-San Diego (400 mi) on Sunday and spent the night and then drove San Diego-Reno the next day - if I could back up a vehicle decently, I'd consider driving a truck so driving extra is not a problem - in fact, it's a great excuse to travel.
Another example of how I love to drive: when visiting DH's family in Arkansas, I made a quick trip to Lebanon, TN, and happened to drive up to Missouri to cross the River - it was such an adventure
I will be on vacation and responsiblity free - Oh, my!!!!

My in-laws live in Nashville so if there are more people out in Central TN than Eastern I can take DH there to visit his dad and me go meet with y'all. But if everybody else is in East, we can all come to my place if needed. I also have 1 spare bedroom if anybody needs a place to crash before driving back to... wherever.

yeah Im up for it and our house could be an option if that works for everyone! If the weather is nice then we can have a bbq or something! I just gotta make sure I'm off work! LOL!

Jordi's got a grill... lets use her house.

I'd be coming from Charleston, technically the closer to eastern TN is better - Knoxville is about 6 hours from here, so that's not so bad. Guess I gotta make sure the hubby is up for it too, since he's gonna have to help drive Although if he's gonna be the only guy he might not be so thrilled

Is he into cars? If so Im sure he and my Beau will get along wonderfully! LOL! We should have the man cave mostly done by then!
Although I take no blame for him ending up very greasy from some various car project. Since there are A LOT going on! The Beau wants to turbo the one race car, and put new shocks on the S2000, and also there are always projects involving the MG!

grrr right now I work on that Saturday but I am 90% sure I can switch with someone! I will keep you guys updated!

Also just some various info:
Any food allergies? Do we want to all just bring a dish? Gary and I can handle the main course I'm sure! And I will definitely do some baking!

Any food ideas? LOL That might be a good idea! We have a new to us grill and an older one so we got plenty of cooking space!! LOL!

For people traveling far:
Do you plan on staying over night? If so we are located off a very main exit of 75N so there are plenty of hotel options! Also we have 1 guest room that we can offer! But be warned that means you may have to listen to Google all night... he's a bit odd at night!

I will probably start another thread that is an actual itinerary and rsvp thread once I get an okay on a switch for work!

I am mildly allergic to peppers. It will probably be you (Jordi) and I bringing most food since everybody else has to travel. I can do whatever is needed just let me know.

We live not far from Jordi and also have a spare bedroom if anybody needs one in the area so they don't have to drive back that night to wherever or get a hotel.

Works for me! I love cooking so I'm not about to complain! Aaaand it means more recipes and tutorials to add to my website
