Penny is the smallest of my three cats and has FIV. Ever since a little over a year ago when she came home from the vet after being at the vet almost all day we still kept her separated so she could recover. When she was finally allowed to mingle with the other two a day or so later they acted like enemies. They're constantly chasing her, hissing and swatting at her, making her move from the coveted rocking chair etc. They are getting a little better. For example, just today Penny walked up to Rocky, sniffed him and walked off. No hissing, no hostility.

Do they bully her because she has FIV and they know it and feel she is a liability to them?

It's likely because Penny smells different having stayed at the vet a whole day.

You can try taking a cloth and rubbing the other cats with it then rubbing Penny down with it. That way she smells like them again.
