I baked a ham, and made mashed taters, cream style corn, and my dad made some beans and cornbread and now my belly is full and I need a nap.

I haven't had dinner. I made the husband cheesy tuna casserole, which he likes and I don't. Not sure what I'm making for me.

That sounds really good.

We went out for dinner tonight. I had beef barley soup, hot chicken sandwich and fries and rice pudding.

I'm currently having lunch - Mum made me some homemade pizza with salami, ham, mushrooms, tomato, pineapple, capsicums, chill and cheese. YUM. And for lunch dessert some chocolate cake a friend made me.

I bought two Porterhouse steaks from the store, and rubbed garlic powder on one and cajun seasoning on the other. Hubby grilled them when he got home, and made green beans and garlic toast

Last night he grilled chicken breasts I marinated in Italian dressing
Apparently our cross country trip has changed him a little! He even told me to go lay down and watch TV or read while he cooked dinner!

You all need a vacation more often.

Seriously
Everyone figured because we spent 2 weeks straight constantly together (road trip, so in the car and hotel rooms and attractions the entire time) that we wouldn't want to be near each other now that we're back! Now he's cooking dinner, telling me he's going to start leaving work earlier (6pm instead of 7-8pm) to spend more time with me, help me at home more, etc. Said he realized there was a lot he could be doing better while we were on the trip and that work cant always come first (his own business, so no boss to answer to).

Wonder what I can prep for him to grill tomorrow
Pork chops maybe?

We had cubed steak, mashed potatoes & gravy, and corn on the cob. Very yummy but not real healthy.

At 7 p.m., we are having a concoction called "Cheese Thing," which is basically baked penne with cheese and spaghetti sauce. With it we are having a jar of husband's home-canned beets. The jar just exploded in the kitchen, but don't tell hubs since I am not allowed to open jars by myself because I break the seals. Oops!

That is a sign that beets are yucky!

Just kidding
. I do hate beets. My mom used to can those and the house just smelled horrid so I will not even give them a try.

Hubs cans quite a few things that I will not touch, but I do love beets. I think he just overfilled that particular jar.
