I've been reading up on everything about diet for diabetic cats and the info is pretty overwhelming, so I thought I'd ask here. The short version is: Cotton's been recently diagnosed, we're still trying to regulate his blood sugar, and he can't eat dry anymore. The additional problem is that he really doesn't like the prescription canned food that the vet carries and the lists of possibly approprite food are maing my head spin.
So I'm wondering what your diabetic cats eat.
He's eating Blue buffalo canned as part of his diet and likes it, but the vet said it's not ideal for him because the carbs are a bit high. (it's better than dry, but if we can do better, I will) I've looked at the Wilderness as well, but it doesn't list carbs on the label (and it's very close to being out of my price range.
I generally shop at Petsmart if that helps, but I'm in canada so it doesn't carry everything that you see in the US.
