Just thought I would add to this something I recently learned from my bf.He's a printer and apparently they sprinkle a type of powder on the plastic to keep it from sticking to the press when they are making bags. Most use a type of corn starch but theres really no accounting for what is used.
That is one danger that hadn't crossed my mind when it came to plastic bags.

And here I thought Sophie was unique with her fascination of plastic grocery bags! I confess, I've watched her play with 'em. She does love the crinkly noise! If I pick it up and scoop enough air in it, it will float slowly down to the ground like a parachute. Soph loves to leap into the air to try to grab it. After reading postings of plastic ingestion, however, I now realize I'll have to stop indulging her this way.

my cat is in love with grocery bags, hes not a fan of paper, but he cant get enough of the plastic ones! He mainly just like to lay on them, run and dive onto them, and roll around on top of them lol. Luckily he doesnt chew or try to eat it, so we let him play, but only supervised.

Just make sure to cut the handles s he doesn't get them wrapped around his neck.

A kitty IN a paper bag is just "more paper bag fun" for the other cats. We find those large soft "priority mail" bags (Fed Ex works just as well!) are also GREAT fun.
