I'm sorry the kid got hurt, but there is no one to blame but himself. I was taught at a very young age that electricity was dangerous. I'm a firm believer that people shouldn't be allowed to sue just because they want to act/be stupid.

I find it hard to believe that the teacher didn't warn or have warning signs. I took shop all through junior high and high school and there was severe warnings about the equipment at the beginning of the class. Or signs posted around or on the equipment. Sometimes I had to fill out a form and sign it and have my parents sign it. The form said that the school would bring me to the emergency room but they would not be legally responsible for any injuries.

Still though that is nuts. Sounds to me like he was being a high school boy though. They do all kinds of stupid things at that age...

"On March 11, Dubois attached an electrical clamp to one nipple while another student attached another clamp to the other. A third student plugged in the cord"

I believe in Darwin

Yup. I remember boys peeing on an electric fence.

I third that thought.

Having taken auto shop class for one term in HS (20 years ago), I remember about the only thing I learned, other than the admonishments from our instructor (he did plenty of warnings), was how to p*** off the boys. My family donated an old car, and the boys decided to vandalize it. I got into a 'war of words' with the leader of the boys (after this I was deemed leader of the girls), with mostly only two words being said: F*** You. I got him to shut up by telling him to 'go f*** himself.' Yeah, it was the 80's... today, he probably would've taken out a gun and shot me.... but it was the 80's.

And no one dared to pull a lame stunt like this NH kid pulled. Maybe we were smarter kids. Well, maybe not smarter... just more common sense.

I'm sorry that's just beyond stupid...
The kid obviously had a death wish.

New warning sign in the classroom.

"DANGER: Do not attach 2 live electrical leads to your nipples"

Seriously? How stupid do you have to be?

Hmmmm what happens if you pass an electrical current over your heart?

I don't know! Lets find out!!

I'm pretty sure every kid in highschool nowadays is required to take Biology where they teach you all sorts of wonderful things about electricity and hearts.

Although it really is a no-brainer. I hope this gets overturned and at most all they have to do is put up a warning sign.

As for me, if it were my class, I would put up a really stupid and obnoxious and gigantic warning sign.

Edit: and by the way... if he's suing for brain damage they should definitely argue that he had a pre-existing condition.

Edit again: I also just read that he was 18 years old AND only a junior in highschool. This only confirms my belief that he may have already been stupid. rofl
