So I've been searching online and such about DIY ID tags for pets. Easiest ones I've seen were with Shrinky Dinks. Any one ever try that? Or made tags in other ways? Show me your creations! I need some inspiration

Those are good though I switched the hook they gave for attaching it

One of my friends made ones similar to these for her furbabies and they look adorable!: http://www.marthastewart.com/article/pet-id-tags

I personally prefer the TagWorks ID tags that Petsmart offers for my pets since they are laser engraved and do not fade/chip with wear and tear. I have one for each of my pets and LOVE them! They are sooo durable and the information on the tags never fades unlike a lot of other tags out there. (they have several different varieties of the tagworks id tags) http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...:referralID=NA http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...:referralID=NA

Oh I like those, StarryEyedTiGeR! I'll probably look into those when I go out and get a new tag (the first tag we got was at WalMart and the only kind left were purple heart shaped, which wasn't 'manly' enough for Lightbulb haha).

Yeah, I was worried about the wear and tear of the shrinky dink ones. Thought they'd be better off as decorations than anything else.

We always use the Tagworks ones also. We've never had any fading problems or have to worry about the number or address coming off. I love them, and I like how they change their designs occasionally.

I saw one of the machines when picking up some crickets and super worms at Petsmart. Sadly, my roommate dragged me out the door, quite literally haha! I'll have to go back next time I go out that way.

I like the TagWorks, too. I had a black round tag that I had made once, but I can't remember if it was at Petland or on the old machine at Petsmart. Either way, the ones Petsmart has now, they're better than the one I had (the other one looked ragged and worn), and I love them. They're cute while still being practical. I just wish they made a red bone (with the border) and/or a blue heart. My dog has the blue bone, but I love him in red and I wish the bone came in red. But it's not important.

Buffy (cat) has the little pink heart, which is her 2nd one after losing the 1st one that was attached to a breakaway collar that disappeared one day after Buffy snuck outside. The fonts you can pick are cute, too.

Shrinky dink is super easy and fun! I have done a lot of different crafts with it! mostly ornaments and little charms. I had drawn id tags but never got around to baking them and lost them! You can get a pack of like 12 sheets at a craft store pretty cheap, and then the extra comes in super handy for Christmas crafts, birthdays, random crafty moods, anything!
This past Christmas we made name tags for all of the Beau's cousins giftbags! They turned out awesome and all of them used them as ornaments!
