How many people have a cat that...plays fetch? My 1 year old seal lynxpoint "Ragdoll" loves it when I throw her little fur mouse down the hall for her to fetch. Lita goes galloping after it like a little pony
and brings it promptly back to me so that she can get rewarded by me petting her and telling her that she is a "good girl...good girl" Lita will play fetch the mouse 8-10 times before she gets tired and is ready for a small nap. We play this game daily.
Just curious how many cat lovers play this fun game with their kitty?

My Seal Point Siamese, Shane likes to play fetch. His thing is empty cigarette packages that I crunch up and throw. He retreives them and brings them back to me to throw again, and again, and again. Sometimes out of the blue, he'll find one that is behind the chair or couch, and bring it to me, and want me to throw it. In other wards in initiates the fetching game, which I think is pretty cool.

Yeah, it's weird, you think a cat won't be interested in fetch but most are!!! Mine loves it when I roll up some aluminum foil and flick it across the floor, he goes crazy, batting it this way and that and then he'll somehow get it back to me and we can play like that for quite awhile. How many cats love to chase after you? We get a lot of exercise playing peek-a-boo and trying to catch each other, him mainly trying to nip at my ankles and then we both get tired and collapse on the floor

Joshua, my lilac lynx point Curl loves to play fetch. In his younger days, he had a favorite, dog-sized pink ball that he would drop at my feet and wait for me to send it flying so he could go get it

Ivy, likes to play kitty soccer - to bat a toy towards us, then she waits for it to be sent back towards her.

Zoey plays fetch a bit!! I throw her catnip bag on top of the cat tree and she runs up there to go get it, grabs it in her mouth and jumps down and comes drops it at my feet.

We can usually do this a few times before she decides to run off with it.

My black & White cat Willow plays with potato's. She gets the small ones out of the veggie rack and rolls them along the kitchen floor and chases them about the room. Then she will pick it up in her mouth and carry it away to play with it somewhere else. I'm continually finding prune like potatos in corners of rooms weeks after she has decided they are no fun anymore.
Anyone else find this?

Hah...well Zoey must decide that if she gives you too many chances, you'll just take that catnip bag for yourself!

<g> I do wonder what goes through their minds sometimes.

I wish. Chewy hasn't shown any evidence of fetch yet. Neither has my dog
as much as I try all he wants to do is grab it and run. When I call him to bring it to me, he drops it and runs to me without it.

I do think its the Siamese ancestry. I have a tortie point and a sealpoint and they both fetch little paper balls and mice. I have to throw 2 because they will fight over who brings it back. Good for upoper arms! My other 6 don't do this and have no siamese background. Go figger?

Russell plays fetch. Rattly little mice, mini football, stuffed toys from Happy Meals, (the kiddy safe ones). He even swats at water trickling out of a tap. And he's a black moggie.

And I know a few Devon Rexes that play fetch too. I've also seen Australian Mists play fetch on a television program.

My cat, Nuzzi, will fetch my dog! Just let her out and pretty soon you would see her and Tazz come around the corner.

The other way around works too.

My best friend's cat fetches. It is the cutest thing! He even brings the toy to you and drops it at your feet if he feels like playing and you haven't started it.

but only with the strips from plastic milk bottle containers (and sometimes a store bought toy that is similar but harder. He initiated this game, not me! He is the only 1 of my 5 who will fetch.
