Hello there all. i am new to this forum...But very fond of cats! I have been rescuing strays and abandoned/ special needs cats for years. :3

My main reason for joining tonight is because of my companion lieutenant Friendship. He is about 10 months old, and one of the sweetest cats I have ever seen. Today when I got home from work, he was sleeping on the sofa, but did not jump up and greet me as usual. I was petting him and talking to him, and he showed little to no interest and seemed very lethargic. Upon further investigation, it seemed like his eyes were almost sorta crossed. I'm not sure if it's because he just woke up (cats eyes can look strange when they just open them up) or if he has a more serious issue. I can't afford much, but if it's something more serious, i will have to take him in. :[

If anyone has ANY tips or information, i would appreciate it more than you'll know...
Thank you <3

Welcome to TCS!

When you say his eyes look crossed, could it be that the third eyelid, it's like a membrane, is showing.

When a membrane is showing, it is a classic indication that something is not right with the cat. That, with the fact that he is listless tells me you need to take him in to the vet.

His symptoms are speaking to you. I hope you can get him in and on his way to feeling better.

Yes, that is possible that it's his third eyelid. He just looks soo sad. :[
I really can't afford to take myself to the doctor even at the moment...But I am looking up local vets to call. I was hoping he was just really tired, but he looks like he did not get any better over night. :[

Welcome to the Cat Site, but I'm sorry your little man isn't doing well.

How long have you had him? Also, have his eating and litter box habits changed? Is he eating less and not interested in playing? Is he drinking water?

I hope you've found some place to work with you. Perhaps you can work out a payment plan or apply for Care Credit if you can.
