I have a new kitty in my house for a few days.
We're going back home to Missouri next weekend, and I decided that, with all the amazing cats out there in need of homes, my parents needed a new cat.
They live on a farm, and currently only have one pet--a small terrier (who is getting quite old). Growing up, we regularly had 20-some barn cats at a time (half of which only I could touch!) Now there are none, and I think my mother misses having a feline around.
So...I took matters into my own hands and went out and adopted a shelter cat today. She is about 5 years old, and was on death row. I picked her because though she is sweet, she seems a bit sassy, and sturdy enough for outdoor life. (There is no way my dad would ever let her be an indoor kitty.)
She is very pretty--she looks like a stockier version of a lynx point Siamese--only her points aren't defined very well. They kind of fade into her body. She also has beautiful BLUE eyes!
She will be at my house for a week, and she seems to be enjoying her time out of a cage (she was in a 2ftX2ft cage for about 2 months!) She peed in her carrier on the way home, so I had to give her a bath as soon as we got here. She behaved beautifully!!! I emerged from the bathroom without so much as a scratch!
She is getting a bit cranky now, but, to be fair, she has had a very long day (and a long past 2 months!) I do think it may be part of her unique personality as well though! Lol!
I wish I could keep her myself, but I already have 3 cats and a rottweiler. Sigh!
