Morning everyone!

Sorry I haven't been on for a while. I took my computer in to have it rebuilt into a bigger case to help avoid some heating issues with my new video card, but something got messed up during the rebuild and it took them forever to fix it. But it's back up and running now
.

Anyways.

Today's question has to do with health:

Do you have any chronic health conditions?

I have asthma and I used to get chronic headaches. Thankfully, the kitties don't seem to affect my asthma too much

I, too, have asthma--usually at it's worst during hot, humid weather. I have a bulging disc in my lower back and a tear in my knee cartilidge so I'm in pain a lot of the time.

NCS/POTS - I've learned to adapt the best I can. I can usually handle it until my heart rate gets around or higher than 150 and I no longer fall during my pre-syncope episodes.

Handful of spine issues - kyphosis, scoliosis, congenital bone spurs on my neck vertebra, transitional vertebra in my low back. Plus the typical arthritis and disk problems.

Chronic headache. I used to get migraines but seem to have traded those in for a near constant very low level one sided headache - it can rev up into a more intense headache sometimes with a few autonomic symptoms. Along with that are superimposed headaches of different types.

Something is still wrong with my biliary system.. But I can't afford to get that looked at right now even though a few nights ago it honestly felt like my liver was hurting.
My body never adjusted to getting my gallbladder out thus I cannot tolerate larger... or even moderate.. amounts of fat. I simply don't digest it very well.

And my GP also thinks I have exercise induced asthma.

Too bad I couldn't trade in for a new body.

Over the river and through the woods...
I have bulging discs that bother me at times, and thyroid issues, but other than that I've been lucky. Of course I get the little aches and pains and I think I'm developing arthritis, but that just comes with age. I'm only 40 but sometimes I feel like I'm 90.

There you go...my chronic condition is my body is wearing out!

Just one. The actual diagnosis is "sero-negative rheumatoid arthritis".

Makes life interesting sometimes.

I have asthma and I have to take Advair everyday or I can't breathe. This summer has been very bad, I have had to use a rescue inhaler more in the past two months than all the others combined.

I also have a whole host of back problems. Most are brought on by constant standing and the bunion I have on one of my feet.

Chronic asthma, chronic eczema from allergies to dust mites, cats, dogs, tomatoes. My eczema is the worst some days I wake up with the sheets stuck to me because I have scratched so much and it's like a blood bath in my bed. If I get stressed on top of my allergies then I can't stop scratching. Hi I'm Samantha, and I'm addicted to scratching.

If I start having the symptoms of a cold, I must do everything like drinking liquids almost to drowning point
to avoid making it worse. Or else I develop bronchitis and coughs that last weeks.

Nothing that really fazes me on a regular basis. But I do have a bad case of being an emotional train wreck.

ick I am a mess..

I have chronic pain issues (my nervious is a tad over active and I am on meds to dull it down)

I have chronic problems with my spine, neck, knees and hips. (I am an orthopedic nightmare to quote one of my surgeons) complete with bone damage, arthitis, etc.

I have bone and joint pain in my hands and elbows since I also have an autoimmune disease that is mild but slowly becoming more active and is causing more and more issues in its development.

AND they want me to go see a genetist (spelling?) to get tested for two rather uncommon disorders one I might have and one they are almost postive I have since there is a REALLY strong family history and at least two people have already been tested positive.

fun fun

Yes. I have Addison's Disease, which basically means my adrenal glands do not work so I don't produce Cortisol among other things. I have to take replacement steroids every day and it causes a lot of other problems with me (I get sick easily, etc).

I suffer from Complex Partial Seizures. I don't jerk or shake like what most people think of when they hear "seizure", I just get really strange feelings and have bad deja vu. It is completely controlled with medication. I also have a Tonic Clonic (grand mal) every now and then, in fact I had a bad one last night. My TCs are triggered by alcohol, and my baby sister got married yesterday so I had a few drinks.

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, which mainly affects my hips, knees, and hands.

I also get Hemiplegic Migraines, but only a couple times a year and they usually don't even give me a headache. Just half of my body goes numb.

Wow! Lots of chronic health problems! That's not good. Sometimes I think we are over-diagnosed..IMHO.
I've been diagnosed with COPD but have been weaned off daily inhalers. I also quit smoking in Jan. which has had HUGE benefits in my breathing and well being.
I was also diagnosed with congestive heart failure when I had pneumonia 2 years ago. I haven't seen my Cardiologist in the past six months...a difference of treatment between what my PCP and the Cardio Doc, I tend to agree with my PCP over the cardio doc.
In April I was dx with ulcers and other digestive problems. But that is being worked on.
I have to say...I still go to work everyday (6 days a week) I'll be damned that any dr will convince me that my health issues are a problem. I've seen my Mom use whatever the Dr says to give her the ok to be 'disabled' and she's not even. Drs don't know everything, there is a lot of guessing involved or they send you somewhere to have expensive tests taken. Sorry...I am a bit bitter and cynical.
I say pull my big girl panties up and get on with my daily life.

I have four blown disks in my lower back....not a biggie, I've learned to deal with them and they don't bother me too much at all anymore. Other than that, I have high blood pressure but manage to keep it under control by daily walks and exercise. I'm on the lowest dosage of blood pressure meds we can find b/c, as long as I do what I can do for exercise, the meds will take care of the rest.

I have migraines, too, but don't consider them to be a chronic thing....I just deal with them as they come.
