Udpate on Faith :)

I had been trying to figure out how to get faith to excersize more. Everything I tried did not work. When I went to the vet, he suggested that I first monitor her food, and get her down to eating 2x a day and no more than 2/3 of a cup. He said to start taking the bowl up at night only to get the cats used to not having the food out all the time and work it down until it's only put out twice a day. He said once she looses a little weight she will become more active.

When I started she weighed 19lbs. I am proud to say that she's lost 2lbs! She's now down to 17lbs She's more active at night so I use the lazer pointer. She will run around after it. She's also started playing with fuzzy mice as well. I've also switched her to the light cat formula of Chicken Soup. When I started she wouldn't do anything but lay around and now she's is more active. The vet said that she seems to be doing well on the new diet.

Now I just have to figure out how I keep the two of the skinnier cats from loosing weight.

Great news hun, good job! We have one of the fosters, Herbie, on a diet as well and we can already notice the difference. He's on a wet food diet, and although he wasn't too impressed at first, he's gotten used to it.

That is good to hear she is doing so well!!!

Yes, wet catfood will certainly take the weight off too.

I wish she'd eat the wet cat food, but she turns her nose up at it. She seems to like the light formula of Chicken Soup though.

I have also noticed she's a lot more affectionate! Every day at least once she'll come and push my laptop off of my lap to sit in it. If I don't move the laptop she tries to sit on it! lol She rubs her cheeks all over lol I have actually been able to brush her regularly too because of this. I keep the furminator on the coffee table next to the couch so that I have access to it when she sits on my lap.

I weighed smokie today and he weighs 9.5 lbs. He will flip flop from 9.5 - 10lbs. I weigh him twice a week. I really don't want him loosing any weight. I almost think he could put on a pound or so.
