We just had one of our kittens fixed last Wednesday so we know what to expect, but our cat Lyndsey (Mother cat, 2) was fixed on Monday and the next day, yesterday, she has been having concerning symptoms.

Monday, when we brought her back, she was okay with us very quickly and was so much better than she has been for the last 4 months. When we gave her water she wasn't interested, but eventually drank what seemed regular for her, and she ate as soon as we let her.

The next day, she had been really lethargic, sleeping all day, occasionally moving to a different spot. She has barely drank anything, and I am worried that she may go start suffering from dehydration.

If she continues this, then by noon or so tomorrow I will have to take her to the vet. But if anyone might have any light to shin on this, I would really appreciate it.

ok, I'm a panicky mommy - I've got to say I'd be calling the vet now to at least go over her symptoms....or an E-vet if the regular vet isn't around. Maybe it's nothing, but I really think you should call the vet asap to get their advice. Good luck!

I, too, would've already called the regular vet or the E-Vet. Do you know what type of anesthesia they used on her?

Whenever one of mine has a problem related to their recent spay (usually it's just the incision getting infected) or from vaccinations the vet visit is free - though I have to pay for any medication. Your vet may very well do this too, so there's no reason to put off getting her back in to see the vet today.

I hope we can hear an update from you later.

I am going through a similar thing but my cat didnt show interest in food or water or moving for that matter since she came home thrus afternoon. shes been up and downstarted to eat last night but not nearly enough for her body
another clinic i went to i had 2 that need foloow up and both were meds only payment

good luck...and remember not eating/drinking quickly turns to emergency/can result in further issues/death!

Call the vet. This is not normal and I would have already been finding out what is happening. Nobody here can answer that for you. Don't wait too long. Some of the meds they use to put cats to sleep are dangerous. One of them is ketamine. CALL the vet.
