Just wanted to let those who may not know that PetSmart now carries Wellness. (Well, most are carrying it now. All should be carrying it by the end of the month.)

Also, Friskies is on sale at PetSmart for 40 cents :p

Yes, I saw that on my last trip... Now I will be watching for a ingrediant or formula change ...

Really?!? That's great! There's a PetsMart just 2 doors down from my work!
The one I was in had a small endcap of it ... on the back side of the cat section

If it's not 111º again tomorrow, I might walk down there during my lunch break and check it out!

Hehe, last time I was at Petsmart, there was an entire empty shelf and it didn't say what it was for. I guess it's for Wellness!

How much $? Not that it matters really, there is no Petsmart where I live.

I pay $1.15 per 3 oz can for Jennie's Wellness grain free chicken. (get one can free when buying a full case)

I paid $21.99 for a 5 pound bag of Wellness Kitten kibble for Queen Eva.

$12.99 for the 2.94 lb bag (On sale for $10.99 right now)
$20.99 for 5.9 lb bag
$34.99 for 12 lb bag

Can't remember canned prices but I think the pouches were $1.15 ish and the treats were $4.99.

Also, haven't seen any CORE.

You may be right on the money about that, sharky. I've been feeding Wellness for years, but recently I thought the turkey and the chicken flavors smelled different - not bad, just not as usual. My little guy loves Wellness but won't go near any can stamped with the dates MAR 13. I called Wellness and the rep swore there have been no ingredient changes at all and no complaints like mine. However, I trust my boy's judgment, so those cans are being returned.

Cans marked MAY 13 or JUN 13 are fine with my kitty.

Well.....that is very interesting! I noticed Jennie was having trouble with the last case of Wellness chicken, though she did eat eventually, if I garnished it with a few kibbles. I just looked at the can..."best by 03 Mar 13"

She is now having cans that are labeled best by 15 Jan 13.

Oh they all vary from batch to batch... I notice that with Authority and Nutro pates too. The boys wouldn't eat certain cans and of course it went right into the garbage disposer. Never a problem with FF because of whatever they put in there to make it into kitty crack!

And I also noticed a change in smell and texture with the Wellness. Here the "tuna" sized cans are $1.59 at PS - the local cut-rate dumpy pet store sells it for 1.19.... They turn over a HUGE amount of food ... I get my TOTW there and Precious Cat litter. It's worth the drive.

I know that Authority gets their ingredients from the lowest bidder, so that food is not always consistent, but you'd expect better things from a pricey food like Wellness.

I am not very enamored of the Wellness line, actually, the only reason I buy it at all is because the Wellness grain free chicken is the one diet I have found that controls Jennie's constipation and blocked anal gland problem.

I chose the kitten Wellness because I had to have something decent for Queen Eva (that purina kitten chow she was being fed is disgusting) and I was in a hurry. I plan to go back to the feed store and look around some more at my leisure, Diamond Naturals kitten has been recommended to me.

Two of mine won't touch Wellness Core (purchased, BTW, at Petsmart at least 6 months ago). I bought it since it was grain free, thinking maybe Stinkpot has allergies - he's one of the two who won't touch it . Then when Sven was diagnosed with kidney issues, I decided to just shelve the Wellness, due to the high protein level.

Hm, at PetSmart? No PetSmart should have had any Wellness then because the reset didn't start until August. Odd.

My cats like the kitten formula, but I still think the kibble size is odd. They seem to salivate all over the food while eating it. It's weird. They hate the pouches.

I'm noticing that with the Wellness kitten kibble too. The shape is really too big for Queen Eva's little mouth, and she does end up mouthing all of it and it gets slimy. I think she would eat more if it was easier for her to eat.

Sharky has recommended try her on Diamond Naturals kitten, according to the website they have an easier shape for kittens to chew, and also according to the website, my local feed & seed carries it. I hope to go over there tomorrow, it's right across from my vet and I have to pick up pills and put some money in my vet account anyway(I keep a credit balance there) so can do both on the same trip.

Petco has been selling Wellness food for a while so I'm surprised PetSmart is just starting to carry it. Festus loves Wellness pouches but I have to cut the morsels in half with a spoon. Oh well, I will do anything to make him happy.

Today, when I went to our local PetSmart, they had a small corner dedicated to feline Wellness.
My Isis loves the canned chicken ...
Dexter can't eat it, it give him pudding poos.

I hope the company doesn't mess with the formula.

Hmmm. maybe I bought it a Petco vs Petsmart about 6 months ago. Mea culpa! They are right across the street from each other here, so I always get it confused as to whicih one I bought what from, if you know what I mean!!

I went. I saw. I was somewhat excited. They didn't have the kitten Wellness and they didn't have the dry Wellness CORE. They did have several varieties of the grain-free canned. It was only about a 2' section in the middle of the aisle of food.

DN Kitten is what I was feeding Eden & her 4 kittens. They all had very high pH/UTIs - the kittens were 9 weeks of age at this point. Swtiched them off Diamond Naturals kitten & the problem went away (with antibiotics to treat the UTIs, of course). This was almost 3 years ago, so it may have changed, but I also ran into the same problem with "Diamond products" dog food - it can increase pH.

As for Petsmart carrying Wellness....I'd get really excited but the nearest Petsmart for me is 2 hours away. They always have good deals, it seems like, and when I was in Petsmart last I got Authority canned with the kitties love.

Dexter can't eat fish and most canned Authority has fish in the formula except the Lamb...
he is not thrilled with it but he does eat it.
The only dry food that agrees with Dex, is Senior Authority...
it had no flax, fish, fruits or veggies. Simple food is getter harder to find.

The Wellness price for a 3 oz can of no grain chicken was the same at PetCo & PetSmart...$1.19.

What did you switch them to? Queen Eva is very indifferent over the Wellness kitten, I think at least partly it's because it's difficult for her to eat.

I can't put her back on that purina crap, I can't stand the smell of it.

I feed Tumbles EVO kitten/cat. We add a splash of water to it and he smacks it right up!
