I just got an incredibly heart warming email from Frank, the man who adopted my foster, Filbert, last Thursday. They even gave me a bottle of wine to thank me! If only I could find such wonderful homes for ALL of my fosters. I just wanted to share the email with you as it made my entire night and I'm sitting here wiping away happy tears.

"Hi, Kailie.
Just wanted to let you know that we absolutely love little Filbert. He is, bar none, the friendliest and most loveable kitty we have ever known or seen.
When he sits on you, its like he uses his entire body to hug you. As if he's trying to crawl right under your skin. He's such a delight to have in our home.

Most cats we've had hid for 3 days under a bed before they were brave enough to explore their new home. Not Filbert. He ran around exploring his new surroundings as soon as we let him out of the carrier.
He keeps me in stitches all the time. You never know what he is going to do. He's wonderful.
Thank you again for taking him and the other kittens in. You are really an angel to all these cats.

He saw the vet tonight and the vet absolutely loved him. He purred the entire time (Filbert, not the vet) and when I explained that Filbert was one of many kittens scheduled to be put down and you took them in,Dr. Blaney said "Thank God for Kailie".
And he is right. If not for you, we would have missed out on having this wonderful kitty in our home. I should have got you a bigger bottle of wine.

Oh, he passed his examination with flying colors. Perfect health.

Thanks again.
Pics coming soon.

Frank"

Awww.... How wonderful!

I can't foster - my only attempt was a tremendous failure...... that is called Hope!
I just fall in love with them so badly that I can not let them go

I admire people like you more than you can possibly imagine!

Me too Carolina. Those who work in rescue and fostering are my heroes. I'd never be able to let go, so I thank the heavens for you Angels on earth who can do it.

It's so good to have a little bit of positive feedback now and then!

I took Tasha back to the shelter today, since we'll be out of town for the next week. She's doing better, and we've had good luck getting our fosters adopted, so I have high hopes for her!

That letter brought tears to my eyes. Bless you, Kailie, and everybody else who can do what you do.

Awww! Great email. They sound totally smitten with Filbert!

Any chance they want a companion kitty for him? Maybe they could take one of his siblings?

I tried, but they already have another kitty, a tortie named Olive who they also adopted from the shelter. Apparently she is full of tortitude and isn't always the friendliest of kitties (although they love her all the same) so they really wanted a cuddly lap cat, which is where Filbert came in.

It is wonderful that these people took time to encourage you like they did. Keep up the good work. Someday, I hope to be able to foster too.

That was so nice of him to take the time to email you and let you know how wonderfully things are going. It's always nice to know what's happened to your fosters, isn't it? I, like Carolina and Otto, could never do it, because none of them would ever leave my care!!!

It is AWESOME to know how my fosters make out! I'm in touch with a lot of people who have adopted from me because I always want to make sure they're alright.
Some people have added me to Facebook, others email occasionally. LOVE it.

I had another adoption tonight.
Little Franklin just went to his forever home. I LOVE this!

And yeah, I love all of my fosters, every single one. I haven't let all of them go... That's how I ended up with Teyah and Pria.
Dana is pretty good at keeping me realistic though, and the more I rehome, the more I can help, right?
