My mum just rang me and told me she saw this on the news, its absolutely disgusting and I don't think they have found the woman yet, I hope they do and put her in a damn bin for 15 hours, the cat is fine thank God. People like her make me sick but people get off too lightly here for animal cruelty. My mum was devestated and very angry. I hope this link works. x

The video is only available to viewers in the UK. Fine with me, I can imagine what it looks like and I'd only end up putting my fist through my monitor if I could see it.
Since they have her on video hopefully that will make it easier to track her down!

Sorry my G is not working very well so the title says "shockin". The lady walks past a house, a cat is on a wall, she pets it and then looks round to make sure nobody is watching, grabs it and puts it in the wheelie bin, its just unacceptable behaviour and why the flippin heck would anyone do that?? x

That is disgraceful!!! i would love to find her and put her in the bin for 15 hours that poor kitty

But you know what? I would not leave the owners blameless. That's a busy road, and an outdoor cat has other dangerous things to worry about in addition to cruel neighbors.

On the other hand, this woman intended to be cruel, and a driver would not be likely to hit the cat on purpose.

Three are some mean people in this world. I am glad the cat got rescued.

unreal, i just saw this posted on tmz. i would like to throw her in a garbage can.

Reading the Facebook page someone said they've got someone in for questioning so i hope it's her.

I totally agree with you, and i even posted on Facebook that it's because of people like her that my cats are indoors. Not everyone is an animal lover, and another one has proved it.

EDIT: They have her!. And she has police protection!

I would sure love to hear her self-justification on this. I'm sure she thought she was doing a good thing for the neighborhood, or some such drivel. She really looked pleased with herself when she walked off.

She obviously hates cats, so it makes you wonder if she's harmed them before?.

It's getting out of hand on Facebook now though, so they need to step in quick!.

I havent seen anything on face book about it they showed it on the news

and people wonder why i dont let my 2 out

I saw this and while it is horrifying, it was at the edge of a busy street. I wonder if she did it thinking she was trying to keep it safe, and no, that wasn't smart, it was very cruel. Luckily someone found him (so I read) and he is doing ok now. But heck lady, take the poor thing somewhere, don't dump him in a garbage can... *sigh* Thankfully there are SOME people in the world who care enough to speak and care for the helpless.

Do you want me to send the facebook link on your page later?. I wouldn't to be honest because it's really getting out of hand now

No she knew what she was doing. You saw her look up and down the street making sure no one was around to see her before she lifted the lid, scruff the cat then shove her in

The cats fine though

My first thought also was that it was temporary safekeeping and that she may not have had time to provide any further on the spot. In that case, though, anyone with more compassion for a living creature than the garbage would have left a note followed by an immediate call to a rescue agency.

I have just seen an update on the news that she hasn't been arrested as apparently putting a cat in a bin is not a crime!!!! The RSPCA will be talking to her but I doubt they will be able to do anything, its sickening.xx

It looks like Facebooks got their backside into gear and removed the pictures of dead cats people had put up. I'm so pleased because some of them were awful

Oooh, thats quite a good thing, I think a persons FB tells quite alot about them, I wish they would do something like that here, might stop certain people getting certain jobs, I was on it but didn't get on with it very well x

I just don't understand why someone would do that!!!!!!
That poor defenseless cat, he was being friendly and went over to her, and allowed her to stroke him, and she repayed him by shutting him in a bin! WHY????? She must have something wrong with her! If someone did that to Roxy I would have to be restrained from doing something awful to them.
And the cat is a rescue cat already and it's apparently taken him ages to learn to trust already.
It makes you wonder what kind of crazy people are amoung us.
That kitty showed nothing but love and that woman did that!!!
I hate her.

Just saw it on the news. They have excellent footage of this woman who threw an escaped house cat, Lola, in a big green trash bin.

Lola spent 15 hours in the bin before being rescued.

I sure hope they find this person. Makes me so angry.
They have found her but the police eont do anything as its not a criminal matter, its being left to the RSPCA
post #27 of 72
thank God that Lola was rescued! I think that it's important for the news to carry such stories because the public outrage will get the police to rethink their attitude and start becoming more involved

She deserves the same done to her!

Someone like this asks for police protection? Isn't it other lives who should be protected from her?!

Their trolls, just like we get here, plus when you click on their username they have all their details hidden. Facebook know who they are and that's when they terminate their account
