Morning everyone

Ok so theres about 18 weeks till christmas sooooooo



Have you started your christmas shopping yet?

O goodness!! Nope, I don't shop. We just give the kids a check and let them buy something a bit extra from grama and grampa like after Christmas when things are on sale.

My hubby and I don't buy for eachother. We try not to get taken up in the frenzy and keep life simple. Besides, here in the NE it gets pretty nasty and at this point in my life, I don't feel like tackling the people and traffic.

But we do have Christmas dinner with the kids and it's fun watching them all go crazy over their presents.

I like to be finished by October, I hate shopping and do not want to be battling the holiday crowds.

Yeah, i started it in January

I'm going on a cruise soon so i've been put back on it, but i should have it finished in October

I have a couple of things, but very little. I usually shop right up until the last minute.

I only have four gifts to buy - one for the Bad Santa Exchange, one for the newest family member and what I want to get her won't be in the stores for a while, and another for cousin and his wife and they are tough and one for my best friend.

Two years ago, we decided it was getting too much to buy for everyone in the family (15+ gifts) even with a very low cap on the price, so started the bad Santa - much easier to buy something useful and give that and let the fights begin The only thing I miss is the wrapping, I LOVE wrapping stuff

Well, kind of. Remember when we were talking about gargoyles? I ordered Apex from Design Toscano.....he's going to be my "to me from me" Christmas present this year.

No I haven't started shopping. I don't until November or beginning of December usually.

Surely you jest... I usually buy gifts from either QVC or HSN, I never go out and fight the crowds anymore, those days are over for me. I rather just sit on my couch and shop, they have some great ideas that I would never have thought of to give...and they give you till sometime in January to return anything which is great.

I've picked up a few things, here and there. I actually bought one while out shopping this afternoon!

I started my christmas sopping on boxing day last year. I usually shop right right up to 4:30 christmas eve.

No and I won't do it at all. Christmas has become so commercial any more, that I don't even bother with it.

There you go, ruining an otherwise lovely day, by mentioning Christmas shopping!

I used to do it even earlier, but I now have fewer people to buy for. Hubby & I set a dollar limit, and exchange each other's Paypal passwords, then have sprees on eBay. This is normally done on Thanksgiving morning, while the turkey is roasting! (We have no family with us that day, so there's not much else to do.) eBay tends to have lots of free shipping around that time, too, and I like to help others pay for their Christmas shopping by buying from them (and animal charities).

We do the above for birthdays, anniversaries, and Valentine's Day, too. Don't you think buying an obscure German WWII machine-gun part for a gift is sooooo romantic?

Nope. So not interested in Christmas shopping this early, and I haven't been doing much of it these past few years anyway. Who can afford it?

I bought half of my Secret Santa gifts. Is there anything else that I need to be shopping for? lol

Nope, no shopping done yet. I don't do as much as I used to anyway when the kids were here. We mostly buy a token gift for the little grandchildren. They like a present to open, but the main thing is they have a saving account and they get a Christmas card with a bank deposit slip in it. We used to exchange a lot of presents with friends, but we have stopped that. So I just have a son, daughter and daughter-in-law to buy for. Sometimes I cop out and buy gift cards.

LOL We don't do any shopping until the week before (usually the couple days before) Christmas. We typically have NO money, but my birthday is on Dec 13th and I get money from my parents for that and ALL of it is spent on xmas gifts. If it weren't for that, no one would get anything b/c we just wouldn't be able to afford it.
