Question of the Day, Aug. 22nd

Do you do your own manicures and pedicures or do you get them done by a professional.


I do my own manicures but donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t do pedicures very often. I donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t wear open toed shoes or sandals since I am a diabetic and Dr. says they should be kept covered all the time. What about you.

This is later than I usually post but I just got home from being down the Jersey Shore, we all had a great time. Hope you're all enjoying your weekend also.

I paint my own nails very rare i do my toe nails though

Well since I am a licences Esthetician, I of course do my own manicures and pedicures. LOL However if I want gels or tips done, I make an appointment with a co-worker because they're too hard to do by yourself.

I don't usually do either, (I'm more of a tomboy than anything) I did however just apply some nailene glue on nails and they look really great I think. I had acrylics done once and they looked huge and lumpy and not real at all. These look thinner and like my real nail. I don't usually get nails done because I play instruments, type and work with my hands a lot, nails get in the way. I don't paint much on them because I have a bad nail chewing habit too But I paint my nails with Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails clear just to make them look a little better. My toes especially.

Last time I went to get a manicure I got my hand slapped by the woman because she was grinding my nails so hard I was trying to make a fist, so um, yeah.. not going to do that again for a lonnnnnnnng time. Lol.

Men file their nails too Nigel

I do them myself. I don't take chances going to those places in the mall. Too much chance of getting a nail fungus.

I don't get manicures. I just paint my nails with stuff to make them stronger and it looks like I am wearing clear nailpolish.

I get pedicures around once a year. I just had one last week, it was part of my birthday gift from my husband.

I keep my nails clean and somewhat shaped, but do nothing more than that. I cannot paint my nails because it triggers pitting.

I had a lovely tar manicure/pedicure today, yes TAR, as in roofing tar! It's a long story, and definitely not intentional.......However I have to say that my hands and feet feel surprisingly soft after scrubbing them down with Ajax then nail polish remover to remove any residue. Not something I would ever recommend and didn't enjoy at the time !

I do my fingernails myself right now, but I am in need of a pedicure and I don't do them myself anymore.
