Just days after posting advice on a ringworm thread I fear I may be starting my own ringworm nightmare all over again.

About 7 weeks ago we obtained our second clear culture for our kit and believed our ringworm nightmare was over.

Yesterday whilst having a cuddle with him I noticed a bald patch on his tummy. It doesn't look at all like his previous lesions but, that said, he was a kitten when he had ringworm the first time and he is very much bigger now and his fur is much longer. The bald patch is completely smooth and very white - before they were kind of pink and crusty. He seems to have a weak immune system, MAYBE he picked it up again from a rogue spore somewhere in the house, maybe he never was over it and the negative result we got was a false negative...

I know it's back. My husband is in denial and I am dredding the trip to the vet on Monday, and then of course the 10 day wait for the result.

If it is back then this time will be a whole different ball game. He has been EVERYWHERE in the house and romps with our other cat so I am going to be doing a lot of cleaning, and there's no way I can quarantine him this time now he is a big boy and has tasted freedom.

I am already gearing up to take it on again and (the point of this post) was wondering if anyone has had success with colloidal silver for the cat and/or benzalkonium chloride for the environment? I need something for the fabrics other than just vacuuming.

We will of course be using the lime dip and an oral treatment again too.

Please think positive thoughts for me.

Just an update here. I spoke with a friend of a friend on the weekend (a chemist) who said that benzalkonium chloride will kill ringworm spores (in case anyone is even interested) with the right efficacy.
I ordered a product that can be used on fabrics and once dry is safe for pets and kids.

ALSO, and more importantly, I took my boy to the vet and he DOES NOT have ringworm. (Here is the embarrassing part) He DOES have a bald belly button
with a strange shaped bald patch. The vet cried with laughter and I was so happy I wasn't embarrased until I left...

I've never had a cat with a bald belly button before.

I'm just counting my blessings that the fungus hasn't returned tbh.
