Meet Gracie (left) and Georgie (right).

They are brother and sister feral kittens who made our backyard their home until a week ago when we trapped and neutered them. We decided to try to keep them as indoor cats since they seemed to warm up to us when we fed them outside. We kept them caged for a few days after surgery to let them settle down and let them out to roam around our guest room this morning. So far they are coming to us when we bribe them with baby food, and the female has let us pet her while she's eating. My husband and I had cats while we were growing up, but this will be our first time to socialize feral cats. We are also in the process of TNR the rest of the colony that comes to our backyard.

As for me, I'm a part-time paramedic in a somewhat rural county in Texas and a full-time 'household manager' (aka housewife). Our other fur baby is an American Eskimo dog who lives at my in-laws' house until we fix our fence.

Welcome to TCS! What pretty kitties and thank you for trapping them, getting them fixed, and trying to socialize them into house cats. Keep us posted on their progress.

I'm in Fort Worth, btw. There's quite a few members here from the DFW area.

I'm technically in Benbrook, but FW is just three houses up the street. I'm new to feral cats, so I'll be around asking lots of questions and updating everyone on how they're doing.

Oh cool! You're not too far from me. We get a lot of customers from Benbrook where I work and I've had many conversations with folks about whether they live in Benbrook, Fort Worth, or somewhere in between!

Hello and welcome to TCS!

Thank you for trapping and spaying/neutering Gracie and Georgie. They're just darling and with how they're already responding to you, I have no doubt that they'll quickly acclimate to the good life. And, good on you for being willing to work with the ferals and TNR them. There are many here who do the same and I know that this forum has been an invaluable resource to many of them. And, while I haven't done much TNR work recently, I know this forum continually helps me.

Again, welcome! I'm so glad you found us here. Please continue to keep us updated on Gracie and Georgie's progress. And, of course, we'll need more pics too
.
