Meet Gracie (left) and Georgie (right).
They are brother and sister feral kittens who made our backyard their home until a week ago when we trapped and neutered them. We decided to try to keep them as indoor cats since they seemed to warm up to us when we fed them outside. We kept them caged for a few days after surgery to let them settle down and let them out to roam around our guest room this morning. So far they are coming to us when we bribe them with baby food, and the female has let us pet her while she's eating. My husband and I had cats while we were growing up, but this will be our first time to socialize feral cats. We are also in the process of TNR the rest of the colony that comes to our backyard.
As for me, I'm a part-time paramedic in a somewhat rural county in Texas and a full-time 'household manager' (aka housewife). Our other fur baby is an American Eskimo dog who lives at my in-laws' house until we fix our fence.
