Hey guys, I could use a bit of advice, my cat has what my mum likes to call "sensetive eyes" which is probably true, however I think that he gets it too often for my liking, he seems to have gunky/sleep in his eyes and sometimes they are watery too, I dont know if this is because he doesnt wash his face alot or something more serious, but I dont want to pay for a vet if its allergies or something that will pass. I currently wipe it away with a warm cloth when I notice it.

I got a picture of it in his left eye today before I wiped it.

There are a lot of things that can present in the eyes like that, such as viruses (like herpes) and even fungal infections. These can lead to blindness.

Allergies are a possibility, but only a vet can help determine this. Even if it is an allergy it does need vet care and you'd need to figure out what the allergen(s) is.

If he's washing his face a lot this is obviously very irritating to him.

As long as it's clear, you're okay. If it's colored (yellowish or green or any other color), then you need to take him to the vet as this indicates an infection of some sort. Most likely, it's just airborne allergens or dust or something. Also, if he's pawing at it or trying to itch it, then a trip to the vet is a good idea to rule out any kind of scratch on the eye.
