Cat attacked me...

I was sleeping good in my recliner last night with my cat asleep on my chest... until I started dreaming about snakes... and the cat moved a little and I woke up freakin out thinking she was a snake moving. I slapped and knocked her into the floor, it scared her and she jumped on me and tore me all to pieces before I finally fought her off/calmed her down with a pillow between us. There was blood everywhere! MY blood! DANG!!!!!! My right leg and right arm and hand were bleeding all over everything. I can't get mad at her because I know it scared her and she came up fighting. No doubt she was in a dead sleep and thought something had attacked her. I feel sorry for her, but feel sorry for me too!!! She was fighting me like her life depended on it. Spittin, hissin, clawing and biting! Most of the morning she walked around growling and hissing at me. Really SPOOKED me. As the day went on, she would let me pet her and even pick her up but not sit down with her. Most of the time she would even purr, but she is still skittish and will not come near my chair. I'm afraid of her jumping on me again until we get past this so I put her in my daughters old bedroom when sitting in my chair because she acts like she might go crazy on me again if I move in my chair or start to get up. Any suggestions?????? HELP!!! I love her and hate that this happened. I wouldn't intentionally hurt or scare her for anything. I just want things to be normal again... with her sleeping with me and us loving on each other.

She is about 3 1/2 years old.
