Lennon was laying on the back of the couch above my head yesterday, and I noticed that often times when he breathes, there is a slight whistling noise. He is perfectly healthy in every other respect, so I'm not incredibly worried about it, but I could be wrong. Is this something common, or should I worry? We will be going to the vet in a month or so for the boys to get neutered, so I can ask them there then as well.

Was he sleeping or did he have his head tucked in a weird position? If so, it could just be snoring or the result of having his head in a wonky position. Do you hear it when he's sitting normally?

Get it checked out, it could be a low grade URI. A neuter is not the time to find out that something is wrong with your kitten that could potentially affect the outcome of the surgery. Plus surgery is hard on the immune system, anything underlying could get bad.

It always seems to be when he is curled up sleeping, I will let my vet know when I call for the appointment and see what they say.

I'm betting it's because he's all curled up and his airway is wonky, or he's snoring.

That could be it, I don't hear it all the time, just occasionally. I will mention it to the vet either way when they go in- just in case.
